8-BIT-CULPRIT is the House/Techno project of Faraz Ehsan from Kolkata, India. His passion and hard work spending days on end in the studio has resulted in a few more releases in the pipeline for the latter half of the year. His recent remix for Reyul Mather's 'Technor' is just a glimpse of what this young producer has in store.

Having a very simple take on music, Faraz sticks to the ‘less is more’ strategy and implements the same while writing his music. Following a no genre bias when it comes to intelligent underground music, his vision lies in telling a story. Each performance, set or track being produced fits in the moment with his state of being; making music the crux of sharing his emotions with his audience. He strongly believes that progression is key. The story of his music should have a start and end point. His sets usually compromise a deep, dark, melancholic atmosphere with the hope of taking people on an unforgettable journey. The next step in his career is to move to a complete live set with purely his own music productions. Off late, he has been playing a semi-live set with some humbling feedback from music enthusiasts and people driving the scene in India. Definitely a hidden gem, 8-BIT-CULPRIT is a valuable asset to the growing Indian electronic music culture.

LOCAL Lockdown feat. 8-Bit Culprit

We are delighted to launch this series in India in collaboration with SUBMERGE - India’s leading dance music collective founded by Nikhil Chinappa. We at SINCHI got the opportunity to have a conversation on the status of the music scene, culture, gender roles, and various challenges it faces along with India’s unique ability to transform the challenges into opportunities with both Nikhil & collective member Manny, who also curated 3 artists who have put together sets, showcasing a distinctly Indian underground sound that represents the scene in its authentic form. 
We will release one mix per week on Thursdays during the month of November and kick this off with 8-Bit Culprit, as he delivers an impeccable set. This is what curator manny has to say about him "8-Bit Culprit is easily one of my fav producers in India at the moment and one to keep an eye out for in the future. He is a regular fixture on top Indian labels like Quilla and Soupherb and I felt his signature moody breaks set would be an ideal fit for this series.  He put together an incredible 60mins set which includes 7 unreleased tracks of his and even his edit of a Bollywood classic by A. R Rahman"

Producer & DJ, 8 Bit Culprit has an eclectic approach to dance music. His evolution is marked by the long hours he spends in his studio, researching the diverse musical styles that inspire him and Interpreting them with his knack for storytelling. Drawing inspiration from Acid house and other styles in that spectrum, he keeps things interesting by producing melodic riffs and hard hitting leads with the legendary TB 303.
