Welcome to Episode 10 of The Hard Files, I can’t believe we’re at 10 already and thank you for your continued support. With it being the 10th episode I had to invite yet another Uprising legend on board and they don’t come much bigger than the creator of the iconic dance event himself... Paul-O. He formed Uprising and their sounds in 1995 through being influenced and inspired from nights at the BYO with their niche underground sounds. After the scene took a different direction in the early 2000’s he decided to step away from the promotional side of it and passed the reigns to Topgroove before becoming partners again a few years ago. Paul’s sets have always pushed through barriers and you can distinguish his unique music that only he seems to bring to life. They don’t call him the Ruff Neck Mixing Chicken for nothing.

Mixed on vinyl for authenticity, done on the second take (the first was the run-through to make sure the tracks worked).  There's a little wobble around 2:50, for which I was going to re-do it, but I decided to leave it be, so as to be authentic to playing a live set.  Dedicating this to the train spotters, tape collectors, and true Uprising fans.  Including some of the tracks I l know have foxed folks for years.  Ultimately, this pays homage to the mighty Adelphi as Uprising grew to become recognised nationally, so captures the sound of Autumn 1996 for me.  I hope you enjoy
