Old enough to have been at the birth of electronic music I thought it was time I made some myself. Thanks to home PC's and software like Ableton as well as all the great online tutorials, it is now possible for me to attempt something which I never imagined I would be capable of.
I have had a fascination with Electronic music, all the way back to the early 70's with bands like 'Tonto's Expanding Headband' whose only album 'Zero Time' from 1971 still sounds good today.
Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre and many Prog Rock bands like Tangerine Dream, Yes, ELP, Pink Floyd etc using a variety of synths caught my ear too. Then on to Kraftwerk and Gary Numan and the 80's Electro Pop of Depeche Mode, Yazoo etc. 
Another you might never have heard of is Isao Tomita who has recreated many major orchestral works entirely electronically.
All these things have influenced the music I try to create. Though I am of advancing age, I am still at a very early stage in developing my technical capabilities, but I am loving the process and I hope you enjoy what I'm putting out.
