Big Bells Records continues to deliver cutting-edge releases in January 2025, introducing a remarkable debut from Mexican producer Die Propheten. 'Retrospectivo' contains each of their original releases, com- plemented by a host of exceptional remixes from other key figures in the scene. The CDs were preceded by warmly welcomed new reissues of Terra and Fuego, stretching out over a luxurious 2+ hours of prime techno. 'Diablo' kicks things off, sounding as fresh as the day it was unleashed in 2008, and is accompanied by the Carlo Lio remix that pushes its muscular driving vibe into a new territory. Dios also appears with the rework from Jon Gaiser, via his Atheists Anonymous Remix, crystallizing the original’s 10 minute form into a taut, powerful six minutes of dance floor gold. The new track 'Humano' appears here in four glorious versions from the original via newer interpretations from Hatzler, SHADED’s Summer Skin Remix and the Victor Ruiz mix.

Kicking off CD2, 'Fuego' burns as brightly as ever with additional heat added by Julian Jeweil’s masterful remix, while 'Terra' gets the treatment by the ever dependable Joseph Capriati. Three different mixes each of 'Aire' and 'Agua' complete the package, with the combined talents of Matador, Peter Dundov and Detroit’s own Carl Craig rounding off the compilation in particu- larly fine style.

Both Dubfire and Oliver Huntemann have pursued their own paths that have seen them reach dizzying heights within the techno world, but these recordings and their expertly curated reworks will remain a benchmark for many.

As a special bonus, both the digital version and the Double-CD (via a download code) include an hour-long 'Retrospectivo'-mix by Dubfire & Oliver Huntemann.

The EP kicks off with Like This featuring an acid bassline that powers the track throughout leading to an electrifying breakdown punctuated with a dark vocal, the track sets the tone for what sets out to be a very dirty tech house EP. Next up is the title track Pisah, which rolls with beautifully textured grooves accompanied by glitchy hi-hat hooks and a tribal percussion. Taking a deeper electronic sound with Twisted, the final track on the EP provides a heavy bassline, chilling vocal, and an endless groove, the perfect end to what is sure to be a beloved EP in the hearts of every raver.

Paris born Ron Costa has developed a sound that breathes the atmosphere of the capital. Having spent several years in the studio, he has paid his dues and firmly established himself as one of the finest French producers and DJs around. Since 2007, he has also been running his own successful imprint Potobolo Records, which is the embodiment of Ron's present day electronic music taste and sensibility.

Having released several tracks which received widespread support from both DJs and producers alike, his resounding success has enabled Ron to tour extensively, spreading his unique sound to dancefloors and festivals around the world. Over the course of this journey however, one thing has remained, Ron has never lost touch with what makes him the musician that he is.
