Pan-Pot are back, this time with the Cells EP on their newly formed label, Second State. The new label sees Pan-Pot taking full creative control as they move into the second phase of their career, and both Cells and Third Eye are keen indicators that the pair are starting a new chapter of their sonic journey.

Third Eye was born out of Pan-Pot’s urge to create a track with a driving, hypnotic bassline. As a result, Third Eye makes its way into your head as listeners instantly get hooked on the bassline, but it’s not until the arp changes that things really start getting weird and fun.

It's been high time for GUI BORATTO to endow us with another tasty slice of that enticing pop- infused techno of his: since the last Boratto- helmed offering TOO LATE (KOMPAKT 285) had conquered 2013's floors and beaches, we've seen the Brazilian mastermind occupying himself mainly with bringing his own label D.O.C. into position. Now, the Kompakt stalwart returns with TAKE CONTROL featuring Brazilian duo COME AND HELL, his first original material in 2014 and a perfect tune to ring in the summer.

Fitted with a glitzy array of top-tier remixes, TAKE CONTROL presents itself as a strong addition to GUI BORATTO's back catalogue, revelling in the kind of hook-driven pop techno that we love so much. Again dropping silky vocals on top of a well-oiled club machinery, the new track enlists the help of fellow Brazilians COME AND HELL and is an obvious contender for the pole position in this year's dj crates. A wealth of perfectly cast remixes rounds off the release, featuring intriguing takes on the sophisticated source material.
The first out the door are DJs PAREJA, the two Argentinian daredevils responsible for wrecked floors worldwide, thanks to bold releases on gatekeeper imprints such as Cómeme or Huntleys + Palmers. Their version pairs the original's streamlined vocal with the brutish thump of their other work, sending crowds into a frenzy with the flick of a button. In his revamp, US tracksmith DANNY DAZE teases out a similar amount of propulsion, but finds a different level of cray cray with a break as massive as it is insane. Upcoming Amsterdam hotties WEVAL finalize the package with an irresistibly melodic bassline and epic gauge. Perfect run!

The american producer has teamed up with another well known house legend coming also from the USA, Joeski. &#8220;Choose One&#8221; is a colourful track with a phat groove that reminds us to the old chicago house beats, while &#8220;When You Touch Me&#8221; is an old school cut directly linked to the acid movement. It&#8217;s great to have these two house legends together in Suara showing us how music was produced 20 years ago. If this is not enough, we have a techno legend as Christian Smith showing us how to reconvert an old-school track into a much more actual sounding cut. Baba Stiltz hails from a tradition of funky outcasts centred around the calm yet unpredictable city of Stockholm, Sweden. Since his infant days he's been guided through the nitty-gritty basics of what it is to be a true music lover by some of the city's most prolific artists, producers and djs. 

Despite his youth, 20-year-old Baba boasts an impressive discography, with two albums of dreamy folk-pop (as The Betlehem Beard Corporation) and a string of hit singles within the elusive Skweee scene already under his belt. 

His more recent studio adventures have led to three 12'' releases on Stockholm dance label Studio Barnhus as well as recurring production work for post-rap phenomenon Yung Lean. 

Total is Baba's debut album under his own name and his finest work to date. From the opening machine-funk arpeggio of Missing to the sanguine melancholia of closing hiphop beat Discovery – New Dawn, Baba's masterpiece rides through psychedelic screw-pop, minimalistic emo-acid and opiate-drenched coming-of-age-ambient. As lucid and strong as it is obscure and beautiful, this is an album us folks at Studio Barnhus are immensely proud of presenting to the world.
