It's been more than a year since UK native BEC joined the Second State roster and although she has been touring regularly with the crew in that time, she has yet to release her first EP. Until now. With the release of her Relentless EP, BEC showcases her enigmatic style in two exceptionally solid tunes that are primed to take on dance floors worldwide. Kicking things off is the title track 'Relentless' and it flawlessly boasts BEC’s approach as both a producer and DJ.

With the groundwork laid on a foundation of robust percussion, a mesmerizing shimmer of arpeggios transport you to a far off cluster of stars while a lush wash of warm pads spawn a vibrant backdrop of enduring scenery. It's the perfect combination of energy and depth, ripe for peak time trips in any kind of environment. Following up on the B-side is 'Nascent' and it's the ideal counterpart to 'Relentless'. Taking a darker, more serious approach, 'Nascent' grabs a tight hold right from the "get go". An infectious rhythm rapidly sets the pace as flickers of cosmic effects and rich stabs drive the energy upward. Soon an eery, yet elated sweeping synth bathes you in an euphoric sense of comfort before it slowly fades away into a deep dark distance.

Italian producer Veerus returns to Kittball with a moody three track release titled ‘Organum’ this June.

A regular name within Kittball’s established discography, alongside his partner Maxie Devine, Veerus has released two full EPs on the label as well as appeared on two instalments of Kittball Konspiracy. His wide remit of work has also seen numerous releases on the likes of Suara, Material, Yoshitoshi Recordings and Stereo Productions, whilst as a touring artist he’s commanded crowds from booths throughout Ibiza, Miami, Barcelona and Verona. 

‘Organum’ sees Veerus move towards a darker direction, combining moody stabs with ominous atmospherics for a dusky roller produced with the dancefloor in mind. Maintaining a euphoric aura throughout, ‘Arp’ earns its names from its raucous arpeggios that generate a heightening suspense whilst subtle notes operate in the background, before ‘Mummy’ concludes the package with tantalising melodies and powerful synths.

The track combines trippy drumbeat drops with layered vocals, a trademark feat of the producer, and it crescendos into solid big room house that is ready for the dancefloor.

London-based producer Cera Alba pairs up with vocalist Zahra for a pair of tough tracks on Jamie Jones’ Hottrax this June featuring a remix from Stockholm’s Tiger Stripes.

Since his humble beginnings several years ago the Newcastle-born artist has cemented a reputation for consistency, with releases appearing on the likes of Hot Creations, Moon Harbour, VIVa MUSiC,
Avotre, Madtech and Gruuv. As a DJ he’s been making regular appearances across Europe, including venues such as Watergate Berlin, Sankeys Ibiza, Brixton Academy London, not to mention festivals such as Hideout.

‘Taking Over Me’ is a dark and moody roller from the get-go. Robust drums and mesmerizing atmospherics form its basis whilst Zahra’s soulful vocals and a cavernous low-end rumbles throughout to its rhythm as a piercing vocal and metallic elements ebb in and out of the mix. Tiger Stripes then provides a crunchy remix of ‘Taking Over Me’, distorting Zahra’s vocals whilst incorporating tantalizing synths into his own stomping rendition.

Germany's rising techno star Torsten Kanzler releases his new album 'HOME' on the legendary Bush Records in february 2018, which has been a home to iconic artists such as Carl Cox, Dave Clarke and Joey Beltram. 

Torsten put a lot of work in to this. Not only did he move his studio to the rough harz mountains, but he also created a new punchy club sound.

The album shows off ten fully thrilling tracks. Solid breaks, straight forward pushing arrangements and the typical darkish and intense Kanzler-esque sounds.

It’s another big debutant for the next Moon Harbour EP, with longtime UK favourite Denney serving up two instantly effective new tracks. 

For a decade now, this artist has been serving up slick Tech House that has proved essential material for both DJs and dancers. It’s come on the most relevant labels of the day from Crosstown Rebels to Relief, Knee Deep in Sound to Hot Creations. After a busy 2018 that saw two new offerings as well as gigs all over Europe, he’s been back in the studio to cook up more of his club dynamite. 

The brilliantly atmospheric ‘Woozle’ kicks things off with monstrous kick drums and razor-sharp hi-hats spinning up top. The percussion is more wooden and organic, and the kinetic groove is underpinned with rumbling bass while a dark, whispered male vocal really gets deep inside your psyche. It’s a freaky tune for late night parties. 

The second superb cut is the acid-laced ‘Messin My Head’, which is more loose and upbeat, with crisp boom-bap drums and gurgling synth riffs that bring the funk. An old school, rolling baseline is inescapably party, while timeless diva vocals and wobbling stabs bring the whole thing to life and will inject real energy into the dance floor. 

These are two well-executed tracks that brim with character and are destined for big things.

Denney - Woozle

After their successful 2017 collaboration 'Wanna Tell You', Hungarian techno master Paul Strive and Washington based producer Zenbi teamed up for two fresh tracks coming up next on Dubfire's SCI+TEC. 'Discussion' and 'Avoid' perfectly combine dark sounds and groovy bass.
