Kate Simko and Tevo Howard rejoin forces with a new single, ‘Bring It’, from their upcoming album on Sasha’s label Last Night On Earth. Native Chicagoans, Tevo and Kate grew up on house music, and their collaboration pays homage to their home city while exploring new ideas outside the limitations of genre boxes. The forthcoming album, ‘PolyRhythmic', is a masterfully crafted production from two of the current days most dedicated purveyors of Chicago house music. 

“Bring It was a track I made for Movement Festival in Detroit a few years back, and it has very Detroit-influenced chords.  It became a staple in my live set, and then Tevo added the 303 bass line and classic Roland drums to bring in an old school feeling.” – Kate Simko

Both Kate and Tevo’s heritage shines brightly through ‘Bring it’. Their equally passionate devotions to music started at young ages. Tevo, a bassist who started mixing records in the late eighties, coupled with Kate’s love of piano and house music, makes this a completely natural pairing.  ‘Bring it’ foreshadows the essence of ‘PolyRhythmic’, an album that fuses modern inspirations with the classic sounds of house music.

The vocal version of ‘Bring It’ was re-crafted last summer in New York at Butcha Sound Studios with vocalist Amunet Shah. Also enamored by house music, Shah created raw and authentic NYC-style vocals. Kate and Tevo’s new school American sound shines through on this standout production from the album, fusing together elements from Detroit, New York and Chicago house music. The addition of Tevo Howard’s Roland-303 baselines perfectly capture and elevate the classic sound of Chicago. A menacing yet melodic sound that highlights the ‘PolyRhythmic’ project perfectly, A classic sound with a contemporary twist.

‘Bring it’ paves the way for Kate and Tevo’s long-play album ‘PolyRhythmic’. This single opens the door and invites listeners into their platform for experimentation in house music.  This exceptional production from the album is a chance for Kate and Tevo to stay true to their musical roots whilst exploring broader creative horizons.

There is no one genre or style to classify the many achievements of Kevin Yost. Ever since picking up drumsticks at the age of four, Kevin has been obsessed with creating and performing music. DJ, producer, film composer, drummer...he has consistently thrived and evolved by indulging his passion. In the mid 80s, at the age of eleven, Kevin discovered his life's mistresses: DJing and house music. He spent the next few years fostering his deep jazzy house style, and in 1998 he broke through with his first album, One Starry Night, which has the distinct honor of being considered a deep house classic. With close to 100 single releases, 8 albums and many mix cd's over the years since, Kevin has earned his reputation as an artist who has no desire to stop creating music and pushing forward. The audience is invited into the private world of Kevin Yost, and given an experience that he has spent his life captivated with, that sacred moment when inspiration manifests into a tangible reality and music is breathed to life. As personal and creative Kevin’s DJ sets can be, his "Live & Improvised" shows are spellbinding to watch as the audible vision flows from him into music and then into the hearts of the crowd.

Tomy Wahl (Deeperfect, Be One, Patent Skillz, Time has Changed) and Flashers (Be One, Sudam, Low Records, Noexcuse) publish for the first time on Monza Ibiza Records and do it with "Alejandria" a track of timeless melodies that Ethnic voices and careful percussions (in the first and second plane) temper a piece of superb elaboration.
This is a Theme that you can play perfectly, if you ever act in the mythical city founded by Alexander the Great, which in a few years became the cultural center of the ancient world. A piece full of details that takes us at times to 300 years BC without losing sight of the current clubbing and that in its evolution wastes sensitivity and art in capital letters. Many times in music, words can not express the wonderful connection between mind and heart, "Alejandria" is a good example of that."Sweet Hope" is the second cut of Wahl & Flashers. Here the producers take us to the terrains of the Serene and Progressive Techno with a "Techy touch", habitat where Tomy Wahl feels comfortable, and the two artists are exfoliated in an elegant theme for a more contemporary audience and adjusted to the pattern of the latest productions of Wahl, where the main arpeggio takes control accompanied by ethereal voices and percussions to measures, in this case arising from the ingenuity of Flashers, who well knows the groove that has worked so much in his previous productions. 

Special works, deep and serene give us two talented artists who for the first time collaborate together, and Monza Ibiza Records is lucky to publish.

Bio:

Amsterdam based producer QuiQui aka Jeroen Wiggers started producing music back in 1999. Since then he has released on a wide variety of labels such as Tulipa Recordings, Sneakerz, ADRO and Cinematique. He played in various clubs in the Netherlands and was a resident DJ at the infamous 'Voor Pampus' boat parties.
