At long last, one of the most challenging songs ever to grace the Guitar Hero series (keep in mind, I'm still a retrogamer/retro fan) has finally been translated to my usual, tried-and-true NES form!

Although this song's in no way Holiday-related [obviously, X-Mas is 20 days away and counting]....I'd like to dedicated this to all Aussies and Aussie-enthusiasts alike!  In addition, I take it everyone remembers the underrated Yahoo Serious comedy, 'Young Einstein'?  This was heard twice throughout the film (during his traveling montage, as well as the ending credits)!  Enjoy, all!

In fact, as the guy we're dedicating this song to once said, "...just thinking about it makes me feel like having an anal evacuation!!" (Silver Surfer, '07)  In addition, I'd like to also dedicate this to his loyal, faithful, longtime fans [MYSELF INCLUDED]!

Back for more classic NES-inspired Trekkie badassery?!  Here's one most might remember - it's the last to feature the entire '60s cast, released months after the death of the series creator (RIP Roddenberry)!

Who doesn't remember this underrated N64 gem from over a decade and 1/2 ago?  An android maid being sent to rescue her inventor from a massive race of inanimate creatures, objects, etc. and their estranged ruler - the twin brother of her aforementioned inventor!  Despite not actually playing it, there happens to be one track that's been ringing in my subconscious for quite a while - at whichever point the game it's heard is anyone's guess!  Also, consider this my first N64 to NES converted composition EVAR!!

Mischief Makers - 'Broken' (8-Bit Cover)

Remember my first attempt last year (https://soundcloud.com/8bitky-2k13/kiss-detroit-rock-city-8-bit)?  I've brought the best and most-badass out of the space-age hard rock quartet [whose legacy has now spanned 40 straight years] in NES form yet again, improved beyond belief!  

Also, I'd like to dedicate this to another hardcore KISS fan whose B-day's coming up in 2 days!

Time and time again, I've heard countless variations of this classic-as-f**k theme - the original SNES, the Sharp X68000, Bloodlines (Genesis), Chronicles (PS1)....I could go on all damn day!

Why not compose my own variation of it?  Dedicated to all horror fans and Castlevania fans, especially....EVERYWHERE!!

Although I'm not big on soul whatsoever (except for Brockton/Somerville's 'The Cultured')...and although it's been who-knows-how-many-months since I provided any ounce of musical greatness, I figured why not shoot off another one my way?!  Although this started off in the late '60s, my personal favorite version is, was, and always will be the '80s Wilde version all the way [DEAL WITH IT - no offense]!  Enjoy!!

As part of yet another in the series of my post-hiatus comebacks, I'm dedicating this number to all SHINOBI fans everywhere - this was heard during the boss fight for Stage 3, in which Musashi takes on an enormous, deformed bio-monstrosity known as 'Hydra', whose only means of offense include not only its arm, but also portions of his skin and an impenetrable beam of light!  Every time you inflicted damage, he would change color dramatically and bury/arise every once in a while...enjoy, folks!!

Shinobi 3 - Return of the Ninja Master / Super Shinobi 2, "My Dear D - Boss #3, Hydra" (8-Bit Cover)

Diving back into indie territory once more, I've felt compelled to present yet another tribute to a laborious multi-member-faceted DIY-punk-rock band from Baldwin, Nassau County, NY...helmed by none other than Jeff Rosenstock.  Here's one of their signature hits - from one of their recent albums, 'Vacation' - which I remember hearing at a local radio station a few nights back during one of its usual off-air loops.  Must I mention that it'll be hitting the long-since-dormant-yet-soon-to-be-resurrected 4th album?!  Enjoy, ladies and gents!

Bomb The Music Industry! (BTMI!)'s "Hurricane Waves" (8-Bit Cover)

'Thought my legacy would lay dormant forever? Guess again...I'm dedicating this latest NES-formatted composition to all die-hard Sega fans the world over!  It's from a 'semi-underrated' run-&-gun conceived by Treasure (whose staff is comprised of former Konami employees, no less)...heard not only in the Ancient Ruins area in which your main troop fights to rescue the natives and thwart the dastardly efforts of Pink and her cohorts, but also in various parts of Black's Base (in the form of a board-game setup).  It's no wonder this game's well-known (brief anecdote - I remember playing this briefly on Sega Channel years ago)....anyways, enjoy!

Gunstar Heroes, Area 1 - "Military on the Max-Power" (8-Bit Cover)

By now, most of you are probably familiar with one of the 'best worst [B-horror] films ever made' - not to mention an INDIRECT & UNRELATED sequel to Empire Pictures' dark cult fantasy released 4 years prior.  The story revolved around a family moving to a rural farming town, NILBOG [Goblin, spelled backwards] for an entire month....only to find out that it's populated by humans in disguise as the aforementioned strange vegetarian creatures known for devouring humans in plant form (led by their Druid queen, Creedence Leonore Gilgud, as well as the Stonehenge stone she beckons that fuels their power).  It's up to the Waits' youngest son Joshua to put an end to their rampage once and for all...ring any bells?

Memory-refreshers aside, this is the opening theme heard at the beginning while the ghost of the dead grandpa tells the story to the aforementioned Joshua (in terms of the goblins giving chase to Paul until he rolls over unconscious), as well as during the end credits.  Enjoy, one and all!

Happy [belated] New Year, one and all!  To kick things off (no pun intended), I've decided to thrust back into a much-appreciated Treasure classic...this time it's my usual NES version of one of its signature hits (heard both during the options screen, as well as during the final area when both Red and Blue fight & traverse their way through the Empire HQ while being filmed on a wide surveillance camera, complete with cameos of all the foes they faced before)! Gunstar Heroes - "Last Party on the Moon", Options/Empire HQ (8-Bit Cover)

This is for all the CAPCOM fans the world over...by now, this ditty should at least jog your memory a smidgen or 2!  It's from the 2nd stage of the sequel to one of the hardest arcade games ever made (which, unlike its predecessor, was later ported to the Sega Genesis - as a launch title, I should add; and the Japan-only Supergrafx/PC Engine), in which Arthur's exploring through the above-mentioned title area - inhabited by rock turtles, scorpions, fire-bats & finally Cerberus!

Ghouls 'n Ghosts - Stage 2, The Village of Decay & Destruction (8-Bit Cover)

Taking a break from the usual 'covering-local-indie-songs,' here's one most recognizes/remembers...it's the brainchild of a popular 4-piece alternative rock-band and its frontman Rivers Cuomo (of "Suzanne" fame, heard in Mallrats), fresh from their first-ever eponymous "Blue Album".  

Hence its title, he made a connection to a high school incident where he came home and saw a bottle of beer in the fridge.  He believed his parents' marriage ended because his father was an alcoholic and this made him fear the marriage between his mother and step-father would end this way as well...talk about intense!  Anyways, YOU KNOW THE DRILL!

Ever since hearing the VGO's version of this song at their Capcom Live performance with Nakama and his associates, I've felt compelled to reconstruct and bust out my own tribute to the flagship third-party developer/publisher's fantasy-themed RPG series (not that I've played much of it, mind you...)!  This is heard in the credits, at the end of at least one of its installments (despite this particular cover being inspired by a few guitar renditions).

Basically, just like the aforementioned previous sound bank - this one's packed with WAY more NES-inspired [8-Bit] covers of various indie and mainstream [no infringement/pirating intended] rock/ska/folk songs, as well as non-NES arranged tunes!  Also, as with the previous sound bank, my duration's running very short, so be on the lookout for the last one!
