11 months after launching his popular 'Reworks' series of re-edit compilations, DiscoTech returns with volume three. As usual, the material on offer is tried-and-tested and comprises reworks of both familiar favourites and lesser-known gems - all tailored to the demands of 21st century dancefloors. He begins by lightly tooling up an infectious, low-slung European AOR disco jam ('It Just Begun') before sprinting between saucer-eyed 1970s disco ('Love Inside', seemingly a cover of a more familiar fave), looped-up blue-eyed soul ('On My Mind'), disco-reggae ('Feel About You'), tease-and-release dancefloor soul ('Lights') and glossy, synth-powered '80s soul ('Make a Move').

Sleight of Hands shuffles the house music deck with "Give Youurrself Tooo Meee," the latest single on Green Gorilla Lounge showcasing the San Francisco duo's knack for musical alchemy. Manny Alferez and Phil Collis combine their creative DNA to produce a track that pulses vintage warmth and contemporary edge. The production demonstrates the pair's technical finesse, drawing from Alferez's deep house roots and Collis's musical acumen. While the track's DNA carries traces of classic Chicago house, it's reimagined through a distinctly West Coast lens. The vocal hook floats above a carefully crafted foundation of analog-inspired synths and precision-tooled rhythms, creating a sound at home in intimate clubs or festival peaks. This one delivers without overplaying its hand—a rare trick indeed.

TOY TONICS continues with re-releasing the best tracks of GOMMA RECORDS. The German label that between 2001 and 2015 was one of the key imprints of the then so hyped indie dance, new wave funk and proto disco sound (along with James Murphy’s DFA, Trevor Jackson’s Output records and later Ed Banger records). The Y2K sound...that now starts to become in demand again.

Now here comes a 3nd compilation part with music by Dimitri from Paris, who also did several EPs on Gomma in the 2000s.
Also, legendary Belgian disco DJs The Glimmers are featured (they had one album on Gomma in 2008) and UK legend Justin Robertson aka The Deadstock 33’s and one of the first ever releases by Daniel Avery (also on Gomma back then). You find remixes by Nicky Siano (Studio 54 DJs legend) and Horse Meat Disco, who back then just started their party series and already were connected to Gomma records. There is an amazing Flamenco Disco track by Spanish producers Hugo Capablanca and T. Keeler that has been hammered by everybody from Optimo to Ivan Smagghe back then, and Italian music diggers The Barking Dogs together with now fashion designer Marcelo Burlon are featured with an amazingly catchy electro Pop track. Of course also Munk who was the founder of Gomma records is on the compilation.

Gomma not only was a record label, but was also a home for cutting edge design, wild T-shirt styles, underground exhibitions with new artists from the Berlin scene and crazy poster and fanzine design. Before the label was closed in 2015, the Gomma visuals world has been exposed in exhibitions around the world, one of them at Museum Haus der Kunst Munich.

Three years on from his latest solo outing, Crazy P founder member Chris Todd AKA Hot Toddy returns to House of Disco with a predictably fine four-tracker. Our pick of a very strong bunch is the toughened up, revivalist electrofunk flex of "Wilde Touch", where clipped guitar riffs, crunchy Clavinet lines and colourful melodies ride a rubbery bassline, though the Paper Recordings-era Crazy P deep house/disco fusion of "Still We Are" is almost as impressive. Speaking of Crazy P, lead singer Danielle Moore lends her distinctive vocals to the Imagination-ish Brit-boogie business of "Positive Emotion", while the EP's other track, opener "Synthesize", is a darker and more spaced-out chunk of weighty, bassline-driven nu-boogie goodness.
