Freed From Self And Adam's Nature

1 Once a sinner, now I’m saved;
Still, I lack in many ways.
Lord, it feels like nothing has changed.
Patient, yet I cannot wait;
Loving, yet not void of hate;
Lord, I don’t want to stay the same.
Thought I had to come up with my own solutions,
But You’re showing me the way to take.

I don’t have to know my complications;
I just need to grow in the Lord,
Enjoying Him day by day,
Pursuing Him with the saints,
Absorbing Him just as a branch would in the vine.
There’s no need for me to struggle and to strive;
Just to grow in life.

2 Eating Your word when I wake,
Nothing should get in the way;
Calling ceaselessly on Your name.
Meeting You with all the saints,
Feasting on Your boundless grace,
Praising as I call it a day.
I’ve let go of all religious regulations;
Found a new, enjoying way to take.

What is without a price? To leave the soul-life?
Can it be reasoned out of God’s own sight?
Can we be vital with no true repentance?
Of all the sins that must be washed away.

Chorus 1:
O Lord, I come to find Your grace and mercy,
To buy the oil, my vessel, thus, to fill.
O may I gain the prize; out-resurrection;
To be an overcomer in this wicked age. 

Lord, I’ve been told and swayed by old religion,
To only give a half of what I am,
To still reserve a part for my soul’s pleasure.
To compromise Your building work in me.

Lord, wake us up from our long winter slumber. 
From dormancy, to shoots of flower blooms. 
Remaining fruit; a harvest for our dear Bridegroom,
And this is why we’re for Him and His move. 

Chorus 2:
The church is here to pray and bring the kingdom in.
To be the realm where God can rule again.
There is a warfare raging more intensely.
The end is near, Lord, ever keep us in this fear. 

So by Your mercy and Your great great sovereignty,
Do find in me, a turning heart to Thee.
That prudently, I’ll seize the opportunities,
And faithfully to serve You outwardly.

Where’s the answer? There must be more for me.
Is this all to life—an empty vanity?

Am I just a man, a man just born to die?

        And plagued by this vanity.
        Deep inside me, My conscience tells me:
        I need another destiny.

I convinced my friends that everything’s alright,
That my life and future and everything’s so bright.
But a sense inside me, my friends, I can’t deny,
Warning deep inside me that I was living a lie.

The world and its glitter left me anxious, dark, and bitter,
Always yearning, my friends, is there something better?
And religion, my friends, is just a Sunday game—
Dead teachings and doctrines will leave you just the same.

Oh God, where are You? I need You desperately!
Oh God, who are You? Why don’t You answer me?
The heavens declare You and the earth shows Your beauty.
But I’m a man. Oh God, I’m so empty!

 	Lord, have mercy! I’m crying for You!
        Please hear! Are you really true?
        I’m dark and lonely. You’re far, far from me.
        Oh Lord, I need You desperately!

One day a friend told me that Jesus is the Lord.
To my great surprise, it’s written in the Word.
They asked me to believe You. Your name I once blasphemed.
Dear Lord, You saved me just by calling on Your name.

        Oh, Lord Jesus, dear Son, so glorious,
        I’m cleansed and You entered into me.
        Oh, Lord Jesus, Your name most precious! 
        Your Person, dear Lord, I now possess.
