It's Funny How (Origin + 9 Theory Remix)

Since his 4-track tape experiments in the early 90s, Ryan has been completely infatuated with electronic music and the art of creating it. His first songs were
released in 2000, and his first vinyl release came soon thereafter via Argon Records. He spent the 00s playing events all over the West Coast and Europe, including Electric Daisy Carnival ('03 & '06), Audiotistic, PRSPCT, and innumerable clubs and parties of all sizes.

PRODUCTION / DJ BIO
Involved with California D&B since the beginning, his unique take on the sound and ability to gain any crowd's trust has him playing some of the largest dance events in the Western U.S. including Nocturnal Wonderland, Lucidity, Control at Avalon, and numerous clubs and parties over the past year. His performance sound is D&B, Halftime, and Abstract beats, morphed, rearranged, and manipulated using Ableton Live. His production prowess has found him releasing music with artists such as Photek, Gridlok, Salva, Flinch, UFO!, and George Clinton, among others. Taking a 6 year hiatus to push his successful Kuru project, 2015 marks exactly one year since Origin's return to the sounds of D&B, and the future looks bright.

As an Ableton Certified Trainer since 2008, Ryan has taught classes and designed curriculum for some of the finest music production schools in Los Angeles including SAE Hollywood, Relativity School, Beat Lab Academy, Icon Collective, among others.

The idea is simple. Ryan Origin & Jeff Tovar wanted to change the way they were participating in music, so the KURU project was born. Combining elements of bass, techno, and progressive dance music, KURU rocks dancefloors & captivates audiences with a unique brand of left-leaning sonics. In the studio since 2008, collaborations with artists such as Photek, Salva, UFO!, and Flinch, among others, have found their way into the hearts and minds of discerning music fans. Kuru is the Universal Architect, crafting alternate possibilities for all to explore.
