This is my submission for the Puremix contest. I mixed this at GMC Productions in Houston Tx.

Gear: Pro Tools 10. Mac Pro, Mackie MR8
Plugins: REq, C1 gate, H-Delay, RVerb, Altiverb, OneKnob Driver, iZotope Vinyl, S1 Imager.

started out by seperating the snare from the high hat (they were both on 1 track) so that I could get a little more control of the 2. I tried to get the snare as close to how you guys had it in the video (sounded awesome). Added a little altiverb and the S1 to the snare for space.

I didnt like the kick, but I did what I could lol. I really liked how it came out. kept it simple; C1 gate-REq 6-Rvox.

On the bass I seperated the amp and di into frequencies. I used the amp for the low end and Di for rest of the spectrum. On the DI I used the iZotope Vinyl to add a little tone to it and make it stand out a little.

Loved the guitar!! So I didnt do much to it. a little compression and some H-Delay set for quarter notes.

The only thing I like more than the guitar was the vocals. OMG awesome job Liza. I decided to get a lil funkadelic on the vox so I added some heavy delay (Hdelay) to the vocals. I boosted the highs a little with REq and brought it to the front with RVox. signal chain; REq-Hdelay-Rvox-Rverb. I wanted the chorus to stand out some (from the other vocals, and the other people entering the contest! lol) so I added some distortion with OneKnob: Driver. I automated it that it would ease into it. The "oh baby" is where you hear the distortion start to come in.

On the outro I automated some RVerb so that the vocals fade to the back, not out. 

also, I kept the applause at the end. I like how it sounded. I had to chop it from a couple of the tracks because it was cut out of the end of the vocal tracks. Not sure if that was a "producer decision", but I figured if the producer doesnt like, its not that hard to hit the mute button lol.

last, I had a blast with the session. Thanks Puremix for the contest. This was an awesome idea. Win or lose Im glad i entered!
