Harry Romero’s fiery sets are revered around the world, with 2024 seeing him bring his sound to Bronze Beach in Amsterdam with Defected - plus the label’s Australasian Tour across Bali, Sydney and Melbourne. Despite being one of house music’s most in-demand live DJs, Harry Romero’s catalogue of underground hits continues to grow, with September seeing him release on legendary NYC label Nu Groove with ‘The Monk / Shoot Your Shot’. A pioneering icon of the underground, Bushwacka! presents a two-track release on DFTD, ‘What You Want / I Dream Of You’. As one of the most prominent figures in the acid house scene of the late 1980s, Bushwacka!’s impact on the scene is still felt to this day; together with fellow British producer Layo Paskin, the pair helped to shape the sound of UK house, techno and acid by delivering genre-crossing electronic music approaching the new millennium. Italian pioneer Marco Lys remixes an international club hit by Cool Jack on DFTD, ‘Just Come’. Cool Jack, comprised of influential DJ and Black Moon Records owner Angelino Albanese, producer Gianni Visnadi and vocalist Tom Hooker, originally released ‘Just Come’ in 1992. Prolific Polish duo Catz ‘n Dogz return to DFTD with ‘Fired Up’, featuring Dope Earth Alien’s unmistakeable vocal. The house, disco and electro DJs and producers have just celebrated two decades of chart-topping releases and international shows with a special remix compilation on their own label, ‘20 Years Of Catz ‘n Dogz’ on Pets Recordings; the label bosses are also heading to Defected Croatia 2024 for an anniversary boat party like no other. Following their two-track DFTD releases ‘Inner Revelation’ and ‘No Regrets’ in 2020 and 2021 respectively, Greg and Voitek return to the London club label with prolific dance vocalist Dope Earth Alien; also a DFTD returnee following recent club hits ‘That Sound’ with Deeper Purpose & GUZ and ‘Tempo’ with OFFAIAH. Love Attacks founder Alan Dixon joins UK house duo mOat and multi-instrumentalist Tom Diesel on DFTD with ‘Underground’. Coming in hot from his rework of Infinity Ink’s ‘Infinity’ on sister-label Glitterbox, nightlife authority Alan Dixon now collaborates with rising artists of the electronic scene. The UK pairing of producers Tom Staar and Chris Spero, mOat have found a home on Armin Van Buuren’s imprint Armada, recently releasing ‘Heat’ with Tensnake. Previously collaborating with Alan Dixon for ‘Infados’ on Love Attacks Records, mOat have also worked with the hybrid producer and live performer Tom Diesel for ‘Pizza Cat’. Now uniting as one on DFTD, the four electronic artists present ‘Underground’; pulsating synth patterns underpin bright piano accents, with Afro electronic-inspired percussion decorating this deep and brooding club track.

Australian born DJ and producer Kormak has been making waves on Sydney’s club scene, curating adrenaline filled sets that have gained him more than a few high-profile fans, including Aussie man of the moment Fisher. His last track, ‘Keep On’ featured in Simon Dunmore and Sam Divine’s stand-out b2b at Defected Croatia, and his debut release with DFTD maintains his bumping, bass-driven style of production. The release opens with the title track ‘Love On The Line’, a momentum building record that shows Kormak experimenting with the deeper, dubbier side of house music. By comparison, ‘Feel’ echoes classic house tracks with its vocal, intensified drums and undeniable funk.
