2022 has seen Dropset launch an assault of Deadly dancefloor weapons with huge showings on labels such as Cause 4 Concern, Code Smell & Korsakov this year alone. and his latest instalment with us on Dirtbox, to

1/ Imminent Attack
We start off with Dropset’s signature style intro. Heavy haunting pads and synths climbing to an intense percussion segment and finishing with the vocal skit taking you into the ever powerful drop that is relentless in its cause to create dancefloor mayhem.

The second drop intensifies and takes a whole other direction with its halftime beats changing up the momentum of the track before finally releasing the wrath of its final moments mayhem that will be sure to make you want to attack that stage barrier separating you from the Dj.

2/ Dark Tower’
As we come into the second track of the EP. Dark Tower is the track originally that sparked the release to go ahead and you will hear exactly why early into the Intro as we are taking into an anxious filled build up where you are waiting for the drop to come.

Once it does it, The juggernaut is unleashed as the track takes you on a darker than black musical journey throughout without hesitation of giving you a rest.

The second drop is more of a twist as the halftime beats trick you and take you well out of your comfort zone before dropping into the ten ton monster again catching you off guard and dizzying your brain and movement in your body.

We kick off our Autumn release schedule by taking no prisoners. We found a glitch in the Matrix. And through this glitch a portal, that once you play Neurofunk Drum & Bass down it, that 2 futuristic cyber soldiers appear,
brandishing heavy drum & bass artillery and plenty of Prawn cocktail crisps for supplies.

What was even more shocking was that the 2 soldiers were future selves of producers `Cyntax` and `The Fi5th` Cyntax handed me over a dusty USB stick. patted me on the shoulder, before nodding to The Fi5th before jumping back down the portal just before it closed.

It took me a while to decrypt the USB but once I had done this, and had gone through its contents. I knew the future of Drum & Bass was in my hands, quite literally. 

The contents... 2 tracks depicting what Neurofunk Drum & Bass would sound like 10 years from now. 

I decided to show a few people, but was warned harshly that people would just not be ready for this type of cyber connected, audio, neuro-lization of the senses.

So it is without further ado, you have been warned before listening to the latest Dirtbox release at your own peril. This will change the landscape as we know it. 

“Cyntax- Face Pound”

We throw on our 4 inch gloves on this one and get ready to smash your teeth down the back of the throat.

Heavy, violent Neurofunk. Catapulting into the first drop with a relentless grip on your nervous system.

Some may recognise this from multiple sets the past 12-15 months from the likes of Zombie Cats and Jade Its ever recognisable synth work flows tremendously across the track and audio programming is a pure 10/10 leaving you bloodied and battered from the Face Pound.

“Cyntax & The Fi5th- The Machines”

We finish off the release by bringing in extra reinforcements, The exciting sounds of The Fi5th bless this one with techno driving bass and epic synth stabs to disjoin your brain cells in every way possible.

A relentless juggernaut of Neuroscape sounds fill your ears and sends you to a far off place in your mind where you feel the robots have taken over, and this is their soundtrack.

One thing that has truly pleased us as a label is not only welcoming new talented artists to the label but also working alongside who we consider our peers, some of the artists we grew up listening to in the honeymoon years for us of DNB and our all time favourites too.

Add to this a sprinkling of foreign exchange and being able to  work with talented artists / peers from across the globe and you have a very happy record label indeed.

If you have been living under a rock for the past 10+ years or so then you may not have come across the Puerto Rican born producer situated in the U.S of A.

We are very proud to announce our collaboration as a label and artist with none other than Diode. 

A vast catalogue of work has drenched the DNB world for quite some time now and it was only fitting we brought the artist to the attention of our labels followers as his direction pretty much lines up with ours and our ethos which is truly to cover the entire spectrum of Drum and bass.

We are very proud of this one and excited to collaborate for the future. as we introduce the Interruption EP.

1/ “Don't Interrupt Me”

A true favourite of ours this year and a track that has seen
some heavy exposure through some of the larger artists in DNB.

Starting off in Diodes signature Funk sounds and chords, we are quickly led into a remarkable build of audio sonics that place you on the edge of your seat.

Key changes and whirling rises lend themselves to the robotic voices which take a switch as we drop a Jungle Techno snippet before a nan slapping Neurofunk drop.

This one is relentless as we switch basslines and keys throughout until a crescendo of bass and beats.

2/ “Racing”

Foot on the peddle. Let's go. Vin Diesel would be proud of this one. as we welcome “Racing” into the Dirtbox family.

A slapper of A neurofunk drop with some awesome melodic swishes.

This one is a Virus-esque Chugger of grade A prime classic sounds accompanied by gated synths and up to date bass synthesis. 

An awesome one for the middle of the set at prime time.

3/ “In Silence” 

We close out the EP on a high note. A true one, Piano’s, sweeps and vocals propulse us into an epic percussive lead breakdown, Anthemic and beautiful this one ticks all the boxes.

After the huge success of our double release Vibe City albums in 2023 we thought it only fitting to carry on the series as a tradition moving forward with a focus on some of the great music and talented artists we discover throughout the year with demo’s sent to us.

Our biggest single compilation to date scheduled this year and we start off the celebration with a group of artists we have been very keen to work with for quite some time.

London based producer and royalty collection adversary to the DNB world, Pyxis has been flexing her production muscle of late showering the digital platforms and beyond with her own solo music additionally littered with huge collaborations.

Featured prominently of late on labels such as GTA, V Recordings and Liquid Drops, her signature sound has become a favourite to many including us which makes us extremely happy to have her involved. 

Add to this mixture the worldwide trio of Sola and we have a recipe for success from the get-go. 

It's not often we see trio’s in DNB now, after being championed by the likes of Bad Company and even Noisia. 

The majority of these ended up splitting even at the peak of their success. 

This is testament to our Sola work who are strong as ever with a hefty release schedule along with their own label to boot. Their plan for success is steadily ticking off boxes on almost a weekly basis now.

The mixture of ideas within this release, brought this one to our attention after talks of a collaborative release between the artists and Dirtbox and for us give this single a key track to head us into the direction of promoting Vibe City and showcasing the  wonderful music we have in store.

1/ “Time Is Lost”

In true epic fashion known best by the artists on hand for this. We kick start our Vibe City month with beautiful Chords injuring to a magical drop filled with nostalgic overtones of some of the most classic liquid around.

The Vocal drops enough hints to know what's happening next as we flow into a trance-like induced state topped with some great bass work and percussion topped off with a sprinkling of effects.

A few key switches throughout keep this overly interesting, enough to top off those playlists for listening in the car and in the sun. 

A simplistic approach does wonders to a well structured and heavily emotional liquid number here, that will no doubt be heard when the clubs start up right after festival Season Time Is Lost drops on 6th September with the full Vibe City Vol 3 shortly after

In 2023 we brought you not 1, but 2 huge liquid Drum and bass  compilations with a heavy focus on the talent of tomorrow alongside some of our permanent fixtures on the label, delving head first into new waters for them and taking themselves way outside of their comfort zone.

And after the massive success of last years compilation we are thrilled to announce Vibe City Volume 3 for 2024 with our biggest original compilation yet with 24 exclusive Liquid Drum and bass inspired tracks from some amazing artists from around the world.

This one has been over six months in the making and yet again we have gone above and beyond to bring new talent to the forefront on the label and give Liquid Drum and bass its just deserves.

And what Vibe City compilation would be complete without customised artwork focusing on some of the best Game inspired look for the masses.

For this year the focus is on the 80’s board game Guess Who? Where we have transformed all our artists into characters from the classic board game.

We have even gone as far to complete a real life board game featuring all the producers which will go on sale the week of release.

We also have one of the most talked about Junglists at the moment producing music. he has one of the biggest musical outputs there is and has released on every major label doing Jungle or Liquid in the past 4 years from the likes of Hospital, Ram, Jungle Cakes, Sub-Liminal, Liondub, Deep In The Jungle, Formation and many more. 

We are of course talking about the man like Conrad Subs who brings us 2 amazing slabs of Liquid-Jungle influenced bangers.

Permanent fixtures to Dirtbox compilations are also on hand with Sigmus, Abidance, Beskar, Skuff, Lee UHF & DJ Komatose dropping us some flava from their repertoire to spice up the release.

Kickstarting our 2024 Autumn schedule we bring back one of our most popular series on the label. The one and only Rock N Rollerz.

The aim of this series is to bring the very best of those dutty DNB rollers and amen ridden Jungle tracks to the masses, and that is exactly what we have been doing with Entropy & Skandal dropping the first on the series early in 2024.

Expect these EP’s to come thick and fast right now as we have a plethora of music to drop under this series.

Wasting no time we invite one of the newest, and most talented artists in drum and bass, who is making some serious waves.

We discovered Sam aka APOM on another label `Subdue` recently and knew we had to hit him up to work alongside.

APOM is currently in quite high demand but by the end of summer we managed to nab these two custom made bangers for the series, and we are sure you will not be disappointed.

1/ APOM - “Stank”

With a name like Stank it's very easy to come to the conclusion that this has `Rock n Rollerz` written all over it.

We are not messing about on this one, And neither is Apom, a crunchy backdoor kicker if we ever heard one that will be turning gun fingers into anti tank missile fists.

Some eerie chords mixed in with the Stank vocal and of course simmering Bassline make up a huge portion of this track but its that absolutely stanky stab and rolling drop that makes the track a true contender for biggest banger of the Autumn club period.

2/ APOM - “Amped”

Amped brings a much more techier feel. but with a bunch of naughty synth work and one of the best fight promos ever, from Mike Tyson “I'll eat your children”

A trippy one this, ripping your heart from your chest as this one will make you sway in and out of those dance floor steps you’re planning on taking.

Both artists The Fi5th and Shayper have come with the goods delighting us with an onslaught of DNB from across the spectrum, specialising in their creative sub-genres.

Both artists are now on the brink of the final piece of this puzzle where both will land as an album and a final yet to be heard track on both series (V12) which will be a collaboration from both artists.

Procedure V9-11 and Iteration V9-11 are included in this mail out totalling a massive 6 tracks that are due to be dropped between September 1st and November 1st.

Please make sure you are leaving some great feedback for this as this has been a huge project for both artists who have worked tirelessly to get this music out in time, whilst its label `Dirtbox Recordings` has fulfilled everything it could possibly do and more to help get this to the forefront of the DSP platforms which in turn have been supporting it year wide.

Additionally for their hard work both artists are incorporating a much larger revenue cut from this release to normal releases due to the sheer output this has asked of them.

At Dirtbox you know we love a good release series, So why not drop another for old time sake?

But this isn’t just any release series within the confines of the multi faceted drum and bass label.

This particular series has a specific set of skills?!

The land of Russia has brought us an unbetold wealth of talent when it comes to dance music in general, not just drum and bass.

Nina Kravitz, Zedd & Arty to name a few commercial ones. But it's the drum and bass we are interested in, as this is where you will find those cold, hard broken beats from the vast land that is known as the Russian Empire.

The likes of Gydra, Paperclip, Receptor, Rusty K, Teddy Killerz, BOP, Gancher & Ruin, Enei, Tobax, Despersion, 2Whales and many more of course make up the interesting and somewhat enviable stack of talent that has come out of the country over the years to bless us with what they describe as drum and bass.

But on the horizon is a new wave of talented, musical genius. 
ready to carry the torch from their predecessors and into the next decade. Many of them tutorted by the legendary Paperclip himself. 

One of those is none other than Saint Petersburg native himself
Splatii.

We kick start this tribute of releases to Russian DNB with 3 tracks of dark deep drum and bass flavour from Splatii himself which is heavily rotating currently across the globe in DJs playlists already and once it hits stores will be a must have for anyone with an iota of musical taste.

1/ “Aiko”

A Japanese term meaning love and fortune, This is what describes our kick off to this phenomenal release.

An Echoing Bass Guitar and cyber sounding transitional synth work and effects carry this track in right from the get-go.

Don't get it twisted, There's no love melodies in this one as its deep dark pulsating vibe sets the tone for the rest of the tracks to follow.

2/ “Night Bird”

Keeping the flavour throughout on this one, A nominal sprinkle of early Noisia comes to mind when listening to this, 

As a heavy yet pacy scattering percussion section drops us right
into the layered bass and effects keeping a much eerier tone than the previous track, but still enough dance floor accessibility for those head down moments from the crowd.

3/ “Risha”

A number of meanings can be taken from the term Risha, in some ways it can mean politeness. But this track is not that. Its down right rude and abrupt in its tone, so the meaning of Divine Worship fits the bill on this as we complete the release with a much more euphoric lead that is a massively pleasing start to this run of releases.

The Dirtbox releases are coming thick and fast for the latter part of 2024, as we now have our regular instalment of one of our more popular series, “Rock n Rollerz”.

A little more on the Amen Jungle tip for this one but an absolute favourite of ours.

We close out the EP with this masterful addition that features Black Country Midlands MC Sensi.

What a 2024 it has been for Dirtbox Recordings. This year we had the largest output of any other year we’ve had in our existence with 45 releases that included 4 compilations. 

That will take some beating.

And as they say we save the best until last with our good friend of the label and amazingly talented artist `Konetix` dropping 2 absolute bombs with us to close the year out.

No stranger to big game releases, Ben Konetix has collaborated with some major artists in the past couple of years, so it is with great pleasure we get to showcase him in a solo effort after his magnificent remix for the 50th release back in March.

Debut release from across the pond and this is a monster. The headline track is a collaboration between Komander Ground & Kutlo (Slovakia) and Londons own Jimmy Danger MC. This fantastic headline track breaks the barriers and blurs the lines between Jump Up and Neurofunk with a very unique and heavy blend of bass and vocals. Following this 3 amazing remixes, Low Calculated (Slovakia) brings up the first Neurofunk monster. While half step specialist unikore gives his own special take on the track. While finally Komander Ground brings us a nice rework of the unikore Remix bringing it back to DNB
