Love Foundation @ Skalar Festival 2025

@maarje_music and the Love Foundation performed for the first time together at Château Perché Festival from our friends from @perchepolis-label in 2019. As part of @eigenklang she mixed her juicy music one night in the middle of our lovely yurt.
For this Lovecast @maaje_music prepared a set for all those, who just woke up from hibernation and slowly want to get in motion.
This smooth downtempo mix was recorded on freezing but sunny days at her homebase "Anwesend" in France and accompanied by Masmeen on the Cello."

Lovecast 98 - ϻaaje

While it looks like the Pandemic is slowly coming to an end, we are still digging some pearls from our memory box. This time it is a recording from @konchord during our 5 years of love party in April 2018 in Maastricht. It was a beautiful event in a historical venue called " Onder de brug" in Maastricht and we still have a big smile on our face when we think back of that day. We hope the set does the same for you.

United by a shared passion for music and a particular fondness for bass, we couldn't have thought of a more fitting duo to invite to the stage of Glacis Open Air 2023 in Magdeburg than @truenaturemusic & @zhart. Our deepest gratitude goes to them for sharing their beats and friendship with us and with open arms we want to welcome them in our love family. ❤️

🎶Can you recall a moment in your life where an act of love deeply moved you?
Being shown that even on bad days, in moments where you don't have much to give yourself, when you are not in your power, you are still supported by your loved ones. When your friends make compromises without hesitation, when they completely put their own happiness on the back burner in order to support you, when they are there for you in every situation as a matter of course, this kind of love is very moving.

🎶Do you believe that love can be communicated without words? If yes, how have you experienced this?
Yes. I feel that Love can be expressed diversely. Sometimes Love can be expressed through a hug, a kiss or a smile - sometimes through gratitude, respect or silence. As there is an endless field of ways of expressing love we all have sweet memories in our hearts about how love has been expressed to us non-verbally and experiencing more of it the more we open up for it.

About four years ago, @sinamin_sound embarked on her Love Family journey in Dresden, sharing her music with us on multiple occasions. Along the way, she started various other musical endeavors, with the @disconnect_podcast collective and most recently with @rebelliondertraumer. However, her paths continually crossed with the Love Foundation; love seems to be an inescapable force in her life! A heartfelt thank you for sharing your music with us! 🫶🏼

🎶How do you express love through your music?
As a DJ, I express love through music by curating songs that resonate deeply with the heart. I carefully select lyrics and melodies that speak to the soul. This 'Love Cast' spans across decades and genres. This mix includes a variety of love songs, some admittedly cheesy, but all celebrating love in its myriad forms – from joyous to melancholic, encompassing both love for others and self-love. My aim is to share these universal emotions of love that make life not just beautiful but thrilling.

🎶What's the most profound lesson about love that you've learned?
Over time, I've learned that love can be shown and felt in many different ways. Misunderstandings arise when love is shown in diverse ways, and that can be tough. I've found generous understanding, humor and light-heartedness to be essential in bridging these gaps, even though this can feel like „work“ sometimes. The key is in active listening and empathy. Love is about adapting to others' needs and their love languages and meeting them halfway. Being loved by everyone isn't necessary (and impossible), but I deeply value the love from the people I've chosen to be in my life and who matter to me.

@OliNeate began weaving his rhythms between South Africa and Europe a few years ago, establishing himself not only as a curator for the Swedish channel House Music With Love (@hmwl), but also as a founder of Deep House South Africa (@deephouse_sa) in 2019. Over the course of his musical journey, he transitioned from the spotlight to the dynamic world behind the scenes, delving into artist and label management, event production, and advocating for the nightlife. His deep-seated love for music and culture underscores a career that is as diverse as his beats, driven by a passion that has taken root in the South African music scene. 🎶🌍

🎶 What is the story of how you joined Love Foundation? 🎧
I was introduced to Love Foundation in 2019 during the Waking Life Festival in Portugal. The collective community and the project's charitable essence deeply resonated with me. I stayed connected with the project for some time, and when the opportune moment arrived, I, along with some incredible individuals from Malmö and Copenhagen, opened a Love Foundation hub in Copenhagen.

🎶 Do you believe that love can be communicated without words? If yes, how have you experienced this? 🎧
Absolutely, love is a language often spoken without words, and I feel it profoundly in the community on the dancefloor. When everyone is present, connected through the music, there's a unique energy that transcends verbal communication. It's in the collective rhythm, the shared movements, and the unspoken understanding between individuals. The dancefloor becomes a space where emotions flow seamlessly, and the language of love is expressed through the universal language of music.

Lovecast 113 - Oli Neate

Human Power is an activist DJ and speaker project to make people aware that every person can be powerful and create something out of their life. Everyone has their own mental and physical strength, just believe in your own power 🎤💪. Human Power makes nightlife and transformational festival promoters aware of creating an accessible experience and inspire them on how to make the change as cool and smooth as possible.

Robbe Van Bogaert is the founder of EVENTSURE and he works as
nightlife expert for the city of Antwerp, Belgium. He lives with a
bone structure problem, multiple epiphyseal dysplasia and in his
younger years he had a life in a wheelchair but he found the power to
fight to get out of it, but still use the wheelchair as his bike on
festivals and during travelling the globe 🌐 with the HUMAN POWER
project.

Lovecast 115 - Human Power - A journey of love in the Wild West

The first time the name Mūna (@muna-music) popped up in our hearts was in the summer of 2021.  It wasn't long before she had not only taken on the responsibility of hub coordination at the Berlin Love Foundation but had also successfully led several projects with her head and heart. Since then, her path has somewhat diverged from the Love Foundation. At the beginning of this year, she and her friends launched the @parole-emilia project, aiming to bring more diversity and equality to the scene and, most importantly, to raise awareness for FLINTA* artists. 🌈💜

Mūna not only shines with her organizational talent; she also captivates us artistically. She impresses us with her DJing skills in particular, but also with her self-painted artworks. Her attention to detail and the emotional connection are undeniable – it's clear that she lives for her art. An artist to the core. 🫶

𝑳𝑭: Can you recall a moment in your life where an act of love deeply moved you?

𝑴𝒂𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝑴𝒊𝒏𝒐: The moment that showed me the most what love really means was the birth of my daughter. It’s a love that is stronger than other aspects of love like self-love (which is extraordinarily important) and goes beyond just wanting to take responsibility for oneself. Love that means taking risks and committing to someone else without gaining anything for oneself. Sacrifice and devotion for another person, selfless and honest - that is my definition of this love.
 
This situation deeply moved myself and the development of my way as a individual on this planet. 👶💕🌍
 
𝑳𝑭: What's the most profound lesson about love that you've learned? 
 
𝑴𝒂𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝑴𝒊𝒏𝒐: Love is more than just a feeling; love is a constant process and the continuous choice for what one loves. Love is not just a feeling, love is a decision and requires a lot of attention and commitment and the will to work on ourselves as human beings and individuals. 🙌🩷✨

𝑳𝑭: How has your understanding of love evolved over the years?

𝑴𝒆𝒉𝒓 𝒊𝒔 𝑴𝒆𝒉𝒓: Our understanding of love has grown a lot in recent years through our process together. we have experienced how multi-layered love can be and that deep connection can exist detached from a romantic relationship. Love becomes even more beautiful when people know each other well and a very warm calm can develop in relationships.

𝑳𝑭: How do you express love through your music?

𝑴𝒆𝒉𝒓 𝒊𝒔 𝑴𝒆𝒉𝒓: Of course we express our inner selves through our music - that's probably the case with most artists. It's important to us to fill floors with love regardless of the music. Spaces where people can focus on what they have in common, treat each other with respect and feel the life within them.

𝑳𝑭: Have you ever sacrificed something important for love, and if so, how did it shape your perspective on relationships?

𝑯𝒂𝒏𝒔 𝑽𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒖𝒓: In some of my relationships, I stayed longer than I should have, and it took a toll on my mental health. In a sense I was sacrificing my well-being for love. I don’t regret it and would do it all again because those experiences taught me so much, for example, what a healthy relationship should not look and feel like. But I guess I learned the lesson that sometimes it's better to stay single and occasionally feel lonely than be in something which makes me feel miserable. It's not about giving up on love, but staying true to my boundaries and realizing my self worth. I am still going out each day with the intention to fall in love, because I think it is worth the risk.

𝑳𝑭: What is your most cherished memory of Love Foundation?

𝑯𝒂𝒏𝒔 𝑽𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒖𝒓: I think my most cherished memory is participating in a GCG (Global Community Gathering) in Brussels in 2022, which was also my first time in Belgium. For a weekend, we stayed in a squat building, sleeping in the second-floor gym hall and spending about one and a half days working on community related topics. By the end, everyone was a bit exhausted, but some of us went to a party at Brasserie iLLeGaaL and had a blast.
That whole weekend gave me a feeling of community and belonging. And it made me realize, when you travel to another city with a Love Foundation hub, you know you will be able to connect with the people there.

𝑳𝑭: What is your most cherished memory of the Love Foundation?

𝑳𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒄𝒉: One of my first-ever gigs was at Love Foundation Maastricht last year, and I still find myself reminiscing about that day. I felt so embraced by everyone there—dancing, smiling, fully present with the music. It was the first time I truly enjoyed every second of a set, not just focusing on mixing, but also soaking up the energy and feeling the love from the crowd. Love Foundation has the most inclusive and positive community I know, and I’m simply grateful to be connected with these wonderful people.

Lovecast 30 - Garstique - September 2016

On the weekend of the 4th of June, Love Foundation turned the Waterhouse, its home in Amsterdam Noord, into a big playground with music, art and workshops. We recorded the sets of the weekend and will be sharing them here over the next few weeks. We begin on Saturday afternoon with @Gvmv 's Live Set. We met @Steffenkirchhoff in March this year, when he came to play during our first Shamanic Love event. He opened the night with a cacao ceremony and it turned out to be one of the most intense and most beautiful moments that we have had here in Amsterdam this year. Since then we have been in regular contact, he performed at the final stage of our Love Caravan in Berlin in June and is working currently on a track for our new social music label @hugrecords. So enjoy this lovely recording of one of his past live performances and make sure to check Steffen out during one of his many festival gigs this summer, it is an experience we can truly recommend.  We are thankful that we have met and look forward to many more beautiful moments together!

Lovecast 40 -  Steffen Kirchhoff

The Waterhouse has closed its doors now, but luckily we still have a few recordings from the last events. This is the beautiful opening set of Thommie G, for the night that we spend with the Festival Nomade Family on the 4th of August. The artist @Thomas-gaarthuis is hailing from the surrounding of Amsterdam, the lovely coast town of Haarlem to be precise. He has been running his own club night "Dansen onder de Sterren" there for the last 2 years and we are happy to welcome him now also in the Love Foundation family. He is currently working on a track for our record label @hugrecords and we look forward to many more collaborations in the future.

Lovecast 41 - Thommie G's set recorded @ Waterhouse on 04.08.2017

Three weeks ago we gathered the Love Foundation Amsterdam family on the beautiful Odessa Boat. @deepfilip played the first set of the night and luckily for all those that could not be with us that night, he recorded it. Deep Filip is raising from Rotterdam and he had a very successful first year as DJ, climaxing in his great performance at Wildeburg Festival last July. We are glad to welcome him also in our little family now and hope you enjoy the 90 minutes that he recorded as much as we did!

We have arrived at lovecast #50 and we are delighted that it comes from someone special from the inner Love Family. @Gizmuss is a passionate music selector based in Berlin who grew up listening to world music vinyls. Music has always been a massive part of her life and heart and since last year she put her heart into bringing her sound to people.

Since last year Giz is a vital part of our Berlin Hub. Before joining the Love Family she also released a much loved set with our friends from @Kybelean, and shortly after another via the Gedankenklang family. We are all excited to see her next steps as a musician in 2018 and if you like the magical hour of music that she creates for us, then we recommend to see her in persona in Rummelsbucht on 24.03 or at our 5 year anniversary party on 13.04 in Rosies Berlin. If not in Berlin, catch her touring Brussels, Paris, Tulum, Mexico City and Istanbul this year. For now close your eyes and let her carry you away on a beautiful journey around the world through the world of music.

Lovecast 50 - GiZ

The first time we met @luanaschwengber was in July 2017 in Amsterdam when she came together with Ricardo Vincenzo to one of our love summer gatherings. We kept in touch, met in February 2018 at Festival Nomade in Chile and she told us that she started creating her own sets. Two month later we got to listen to her first set and we absolutely loved it, so we are happy to have her now contributing Lovecast 59. Lovecast 59 - Luana

On the second of June we opened with our first Love Conference a new chapter in LF history. It was a great day full of discussions and interesting ideas. However we would not be LF if we would not celebrate this with an after party ;) The opening set of the after party was played by the gifted @feinheitsbrei from Love Foundation Dresden. Every single track that you are hearing is self produced by him and we can not wait to see his star rising in the electronic music scene. Enjoy this magical journey!

Lovecast 60 - Feinheitsbrei Live Set at Love Conference in Tropenmuseum Amsterdam

The first time we heard @to-be-honest-o was at the Hoppla Festival of our long time family member @marcelpuntheller. Shortly after Tobi moved to Berlin, joined our weekly meetings and became a part of the inner LF Berlin family. Next to that he is also a very talented sound selector and we invited him to play in our Lieblingsbucht and at Mensch Meier for us. Seeing how much joy we had in those moments we decided to go one step further in our relationship and proposed to him to become one of our Berlin residents. Lovecast 73 - To be honest - Recorded for LF Berlin at Bucht

@Mattmosphere and Love Foundation that is a love affair that has been going on for a while. It all started with a romantic weekend in Vienna beginning 2018, sparks were flying and a second weekend getaway was planned together. This time outside and in the slightly smaller mountains of the Netherlands, in Limburg.

After that it was clear that both parties are ready for the next step and a fusion of the @drosssel and Love Foundation family with a 48 hour rave weekend in Mensch Meier in Berlin, was the logical conclusion in summer 2019.

Now we are limited to online dating, but Matt knows how to play that game as well and the set that he recorded for us, hits us right in the heart. Be ready for an hour full of emotions and a special kind of journey that only Matt knows how to take you on. 

We love you Matt and we look already forward to the next gathering in real life together.

After having several "Love And ..." talks at THF Radio this year Love Foundation Berlin now starts a new monthly series of small talks and music to showcase artists. The kick-off was with no other than our beloved @lemonella with who we already had the pleasure several times to welcome her at parties and to dance along to her tunes.

For many people in the world, today is the day where we gather with our loved ones, enjoy a good meal together, give each other presents, sing and dance together 😉 

Due to the current situation, a lot of people are not able to be with their loved ones today and the same goes for our Berlin Lover Caio aka @ezio-aguiar. For that reason, he recorded 90 Minutes of beautiful music for all his loved ones, so that they can in some way be with him and also for you, so you can feel a bit of his Christmas love today.

We wish that you all feel the love today, no matter where you are and with whom and we hope to be able to hug and love each other in real life soon again.
