Straight from the urban jungles of Shanghai, we are proud to bring you the debut release from Warlock BBD. Taking cues from the history of "intelligent" DNB but charting his own course, this project has been a labor of love/work in progress for some time and is finally ready to shine.

With each track pushing near the 10 minute mark, it's a journey of epic proportions, fusing atmospheric jungle with classical, cinematic soundscapes. Truly an artist with his own vision, this marks the beginning of what is likely to be a fruitful journey in music.

Hailing from South Africa, Sophistakid has been rocking dance floors in Shenzhen since 2010. He is the founder of legendary club night In2deep and is the highest charting Beatport artist on We Love Music, a record label affiliated with Ibiza promoters. He’s performed at festivals in Mexico and cities around China, frequently rocking the underground circuit. A true music lover, his production arsenal is diverse, consisting of deep house, techno, and all kinds of drum & bass.

This song is part of the 'Bassed in Asia, Vol 1' compilation album. As the title suggest, the album presents local producers 'bassed' in Asia. Half of them are locals and half of them are expats. Rgry (https://soundcloud.com/rgry) is one of the hardest working beat makers in Taipei. He uploads and deletes from Soundcloud on a daily basis, cultivating a sound of his own, and growing a loyal fanbase. After being featured on popular outlets such as the Soulection podcast, this Taipei kid remains a bit of a mystery.

Hailing from Tokyo, @maidable started his musical journey in high school as a drummer. Soon after he fell in love with the sounds of the UK underground and started making beats incessantly. Whether producing jungle, halftime, or footwork, his music is marked by organic breakbeats, prominent synths, and evolving melodies. This jungle soldier has released on Rubik Records, Living, AlphaVersion, Subdued...and now helps to further define the sound of South China’s Mettāsonic imprint. 

This release is also a tribute to Good Looking Records - in particular the Earth album, which was our introduction to drum & bass.
