As the title suggests, 'Space Odyssey' takes the listener on an adventurous journey through sound.

A thumping return from Ossie, this four-track EP is the follow up to his 2016 release 'In A House’ on label SuperCali - a collection of tunes described by the Legendary Gilles Peterson as “Smashment”.

The new record blasts off with self-titled track ’Space Odyssey’ - a compelling opener that pulls you in instantly with its popping percussion, chest-kicking drums, captivating synths and melodious top line nicely fused to create this future floor-filler. Smoothly transitioning to the darker arts of Dance, ‘Wires’ is a commanding anthem; an impressive alliance of hard house and future bass, peppered with echoing chants and moody atmospherics. Appearing third is a bass-rich Dub version of Space Odyssey before signing off in classy fashion, with jewel “Round The Way” - an unapologetically funky number that casts an immediate spell on dancing feet.

Slated for a March release, this EP looks set to warm up some speakers in the Spring time and pave the way for an even hotter Summer.

Three cuts of stripped back trackiness here, as newly minted Nottingham/Winchester duo Pasteman and Tanka adopt the Odessa moniker to mix up strains of 91’ techno – Frank De Wulf’s classic tech piano stab, snatches of dismembodied diva vocals, spacey pads, fat, hollow, proto rave b-lines – with punchy 4/4 driven house and the right amount of Bass attitude to hold it all together across three tracks : Put You Down, Get Right and Tell Me.

Exploring different angles, young Londoner Ossie lovingly injects silky garage sensibilities into Get Right, underpinning it with a fat bottom end, and Artifact gets skippy on Tell Me, for two quality additions to the package.

Ossie Aneke a.k.a OSSIE is a London based artist and DJ, synonymous with forward thinking electronic productions on the UKs most crucial imprints. 

The past few years have seen releases on labels such as; Hyperdub (Kode 9), Madhouse (Kerri Chandler), Exploited, Wolf Music, Brownswood Recordings and his own in print SuperCali.

OSSIE has seen continued support from Benji B and his Deviation parties over recent years, including a stand out DJ set for the Boiler Room x Deviation stage at Notting Hill Carnival. 

2019 has been a busy year so far, with a sting of releases across the summer months (‘Yeah we feel it’ - Madhouse Records, ‘Better days’ - Sense Traxx) that have seen support from the likes of The Black Madonna, Jamie Jones & Laurent Garnier. Annie Mac, Benji B & Danny Howard have also showed regular love across the Radio1 network this summer. 

For the year ahead OSSIE shows no sign of slowing down, with the release of another dance floor weapon (‘To make you smile’) on his label SuperCali and a 4-track EP in the pipeline via Nervous records.
