My Debut Single Sandy Feet is Out Now!

Sandy Feet is about being in love in a very tragic way. I wrote the song as my beloved sweetheart received the diagnosis of asthma. The situation was new and hard for both of us and I was very worried about her if she will ever be cured. I wished we rather be on a beach and having sandy feet than being in a hospital. Out of a female vocal sample, I created the whole production later on. I wanted to keep the dreamy but confident vibe by combining organic and analog instruments with an electronic beat, bass, and synthesizer.

The dream, to live with your loved ones on a beach, having a wonderful time, and watching the sun set. That's the feel of the recently released EP: KAPUZE & MAYA.

Sandy Feet

Germany-based POULISH KID mixes the smooth sounds of organic instruments with some overwhelming electronic beats on his debut track with CloudKid, “Situation Critical.” The aggressive, yet, uplifting sound was inspired by the artist’s emotional journey while watching climate activist, Greta Thunberg’s, speech to EU leaders about climate change, juxtaposed with Donald Trump’s State of the Union address that he watched immediately after.

POULISH KID comments on the song: “The song is about the underlying implications of when you’re having a bad day for no apparent reason at all. You wake up and suddenly realize that it’s not going to be a good day for you. You just want to be alone and wait till the next day, because you’ve already given up before the day has even started. And for whatever reason, you just can’t seem to explain to yourself why you hate everything and everyone around you. With that said, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel: one person who has the ability to cheer and pull you out of your funk. Unfortunately, this person can also make you feel worse, getting even more negative emotions out of you. Regardless, you know that there can simultaneously be a hate and love for this person; and that positive feeling of love will persist and come out stronger.”

What sounds like a crowd full of synthie-crazy sound enthusiasts is in fact just one person - POULISH KID from the German city of Leipzig. While others learned five foreign languages during the pandemic, the young producer and multi-instrumentalist Paul has transformed into POULISH KID (formerly KAPUZE) and fires out one track after another.
„"Pack up your Bags" is the first single released by the Leipzig-based company Audiolith. The theme of the song: real, disgusting, barely endurable pain of separation. With a heart-decorated DIY balaclava with a matching fishing hat, POULISH KID looks somewhat like a bank robber with a heartache. But when the beat starts, you know: this guy is serious. The strong combination of alternative electronic and atmospheric sounds, playful synths, loose indie-band vocals, and booming bass is a powerful response to the lousy feeling of abandonment. Smooth as a CBD joint and hammering like the fifth gin-tonic from a hard plastic cup, the track has something very healing and still gives you big time butterflies and goose bumps, even when you’re listening for the third time.

„Get Rid Of Your Drugs“ is the second single of Germany-Based POULISH KID released by the record label Audiolith. In his song, he tells a story about a friend who got kicked out by his ex with the words: "Get rid of your drugs or I kick you out!" Lovelorn and drugs are the topic and the DIY ski mask and fishing hat create the vibe. POULISH KID looks somewhat like a bank robber with a heartache. But when the beat starts, you know: this guy is serious. The strong combination of Indie-Rock vibes and the alternative electronic lead in the hook create the unique POULISH KID sound.

Once upon a time, there was a young musician named Paul. He always wore a self-made storm mask and played his synthesizers like no other. In his small home studio, he produced one hit after another and suddenly became world-famous. The end. This is how the fairytale based on the story of POULISH KID could sound, more or less. However, that would be somewhat boring. Nevertheless, for the song "Fairytales" from the debut album "In The Shadow Of A Giant" (to be released in autumn 2023), multi-instrumentalist Paul switches into fairytale mode and lets his gaze wander towards the past.
Musically, "Fairytale" sounds as if Paul is getting into an ultralight aircraft and flying through all his past dreams. Carefree and playful, he floats towards the horizon and beyond. The role of a pilot is not foreign to him at all because before deciding to become a musician, he actually wanted to be an airplane captain. Due to health reasons, the dream burst, but now it gives him a boost for his music. The guitar in perfect harmony with the synths and the airy drums are the fuel in his aircraft, and small lo-fi-inspired breaks act like air holes, intensifying the butterflies in the stomach. "Fairytale" is the second single from the debut album "In The Shadow Of A Giant" (to be released in autumn 2023), and POULISH KID's journey has just begun, so fasten your seatbelts and enjoy the flight!

Is there actually a law of nature that states how important timing is? Because it is true: The greatest efforts are completely useless if the timing is off: wine, cheese, repotting a plant, or changing lanes on the highway... The worst part is that often we cannot influence the temporal component. And that's exactly what the new single by POULISH KID is about.
So what do you do when it's like "you wanna get in // but you're stuck outside"? How about closing your eyes, breathing, following the tapping of your feet, and transforming that diffuse feeling into a stable electronic-rock crossover hit? That's what POULISH KID seems to have done, and it could be that an all-around recipe for timing problems has just been discovered here. Available over the counter and without a prescription, the combination of electronic samples, driving synthy sounds, and live-played instruments pushes you back on track. The song was created during a one-hour Zoom conference with the Dutch artist Absent Chronicles. While he was tinkering with the beat, POULISH KID worked on the lyrics and then fine-tuned the instrumental afterwards. So, a good thing doesn't always have to take a long time, and even the year and a half that Paul worked on his debut album "In The Shadow Of A Giant" (to be released in autumn 2023) is relatively short for a newcomer. But as I said, whether something is very time-consuming or gets done quickly, timing, people, timing! Or as they say in the music scene: Timing first, James last.
