サウンド＆レコーディング・マガジン2021年5月号掲載「LEWITT 〜革新性と実用性を両立するマイク・ブランド」第２回の音例です。エンジニア森田秀一氏の協力の下、長尾真奈（vo、p）、山本連（b）＆柵木雄斗（ds）の演奏をLEWITTマイクでレコーディングしました。

The European fire-bellied toad is, in fact, a frog. (No fire, either.) However, this is more than compensated by its satisfyingly fun-to-say Latin name: Bombina bombina. They also produce antimicrobial peptides in their skin secretions – the even more fun-to-say ‘bombinins’. 

Native to eastern mainland Europe – recorded here in the protected land of Poland’s Barycz Valley Landscape Park – they use their internal vocal sacs to produce their “whoop” call: the mournful, slow-motion honk immortalized here. Imagine the sound that clowns might make when they cry and you won’t be far off.

The "charmette". 
Chapel from the Baroque era. One of the 6 built in the valley to protect the inhabitants and prevent them
hazards (avalanches, fires, etc.)
The entrance door, ogival, is surmounted by an oculus and the inscription "Our Lady of the Snows protect us".

Its bell, made in 1869, cast in Annecy le Vieux by the Paccard Brothers, bears, among other things, the names of its godfathers and godmothers, as well as two motifs of the Virgin and Christ on the cross. Its diameter is 57 centimeters.


La Charmette

La porte d’entrée, ogivale, est surmontée d’un oculus et de l’inscription « Notre-Dame des Neiges protégez-nous ».
Sa cloche, fabriquée en 1869, fondue à Annecy le Vieux par les Frères Paccard, porte entre autres les noms de ses parrains et marraines, ainsi que deux motifs de la Vierge et du Christ en croix. Son diamètre est de 57 centimètres.

Recording  : 2 LOM Basic ucho AB40 omnidirectional + 2 NT1a ORTF. Mixpre6. No processing.

Charming "Charmette"

Stayed late at work to play piano and made a recording after piano was tuned. Goofy little Wurlitzer Upright from the 1960s. 

Recorded with a spaced pair of Rode Nt5 cardioids and a CAD M179 in the center set to omni. Best mic position I've found so far for this piano/room.

I used a little limiting to keep it from peaking. No EQ. Rodes are panned hard left and right and CAD is center.

all tests played 6-8 inches from mic except clip on mic is about 4 inches
Some are cheap mics, like the MXL 603 about 60 bucks, the Nady ribbon is about 80 bucks. They sound pretty good though. The beyer 260 here is modified with an RCA DX77 ribbon. The Shure 300 was ribboned by steven sank about 12 years ago. i have a couple more mic that i have not recorded yet, maybe i'll put them up in a day or so.

the share sm98 is actually a BETA98h, and was recorded using he wireless  (digital) rig that it came with. Its kind of no surprise that the beyer is (arguably) the best, along with the Shure 300. The playing gets better as it goes along:) The list is in the order they were played

Hollywood Big-Sounding Orchestra

Only My Railgun Orchestra - Didi solo (unreleased full version)

The professional orchestra performed a repertoire from works by Romantic period Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky. To capture this performance two multi-micing techniques were used such as Decca Tree (DPA 4090) and OHNO (Neuman KM 184).
Recorded at St Cuthbert’s Parish Church, which was build in was built in 1892-94. Building architecture added a unique acoustical texture and quality to the sound.

Orchestra of the Canongait

A family of Great Spotted Woodpeckers got very close indeed. Lots of other birds singing away throughout. At one point the woodpeckers were at eye level with me as I sat under a tree.

Recorded with a pair of Rode NT55s with Rycote Ball Gags into a Tascam DR-680.
