Early influenced by Belgian and UK Old School Rave sound, Chris Nexus 6 has been gravitating around the electronic scene since 1995. Co-founder of a weekly electronic show on a local radio station in the suburbs of Paris for more than 10 years, Chris gradually abandoned the Acid/Transcore style of his beginnings in favor of a cold and hard-hitting Electro that he still mixes with passion today.

In parallel with his activities, Chris turned to writing musical chronicles for Atome.com (FR), Electro Alliance (US), or Electric Kingdom (US) blogs. Nowadays, he regularly signs artworks and illustrates record covers for some of his favorite labels: New Flesh Records, Rave Or Die, Zodiak Commune, Shipwrec, or Fundamental Bass Intelligence.

Which artist has influenced you the most?

- There are numerous but in Electro, I would name Anthony Rother. I used to listen to techno, acid and hardcore early in the 90's but when "Sex With The Machines" came out, it has been like a storm for me. Since then, I really changed my style and focused on Electro in its purest form.

Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now?

- Anthony Rother, for sure. He's still on top after all those years of production. I would also recommend my bro Umwelt and his labels (Rave Or Die / New Flesh). A killer for sure. And at the moment I'm really into Ole Mic Odd, Serge Geyzel and FracTal just to name... they all have an incredible sound!!

We continue to introduce you to new names and today we have Manta - an artist from The Hague, Netherlands with a selection of exclusively his tracks that are not released yet and are waiting to be released.

Which artists has influenced you the most?

- This is really quite diverse, I listen to lot's of different artists, obscure and more known artists. Listening to a lot of the old Tumpett label tapes right now but also the whole ecosystem surrounding Drexciya (UR, Dopplereffekt, Zyklus, DJ Stingray and various Stinson/Donald releases). If I would describe the music style I make it would be an exploration in EBM and new beat sounds blended with (Detroit) electro and ambient soundscapes. One of my all time favourite releases is Autechre - Tri Repetae.

What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?

- Still working on it!

Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now?

- My current playlist is quite diverse - from electro, ambient to doom metal. Right now I play a recent release on Brokntoys from Non Punire called Espeletia.

What inspires you now to create music?

- Mostly the machines I work with. I create all my own sounds. If I don't feel inspired I usually create my own presets on different synths and these can bring me in a certain atmosphere / vibe and suddenly a new track is finished. 

What set-up do you use when creating music? 

- I sequence from Ableton Live and use hardware and software 50/50. The Prophet 12 is used a lot, this is a dark beast but really requires programming to get the most out of it. I have some vintage synths such as a SH2 which I use often for basslines, Juno 60, MKS-50 and Korg ex8000. I exploit the reverbs from the Ensoniq DP/4 quite a lot.

Nos vamos a Valencia para presentarles al siguiente artista invitado, su nombre es Javi Replega y  es el encargado de firmar la número 40 de la serie de mixes.

Como Emilio, nuestro invitado es un reputado cañero valenciano. Vivió la Ruta desde la adolescencia, y pasó de la pista de baile a la cabina llegando a girar discos en salas tan míticas como Spook o Jungle, y residencias en salas como Miniclub o La Carbonera. 

En definitiva, Javi es un Dj veterano y de la vieja escuela que nos regala esta magnífica sesión en clave Electro, con un toque de acid y breaks, y con muchísima clase tanto en la selección musical como en las mezclas.

Four more lively, lovely electro offerings from Plant 43, the second in a limited edition series of EPs focussed on tracks written over the course of the winter of 2022/23. Opener (and our premiere) 'Submolecular Shifting' is bright and bubbly, joining the dots between Kraftwerk and Model 500, while 'Eccentric Elliptical Orbit' follows on slower and more grandiose, echoing early New Order's icy cool synth sounds. 'Encased' has a more otherworldly Aphex-like feel, although the juddering, on-off bass keeps it plugged into the dancefloor. 'The Forgotten Storm' closes proceedings, more low key again and graced with ethereal, adding angelic choirs. Energised enough and streamlined enough to be good dancefloor gear, but expertly executed and, as ever, brimming with enough personality to be a decent home listen as well.

Oliver is an electronic music performer from Tenerife, now based in Tarragona. Previously, he tooks part of the bands Sobreimagen, Velcro and Rominger. His latest project is called Adhesive and involves solo shows, interactivity with other similar musicians and uncertainty of what could be the next. He always keeps active playing electronic lives and occasionally plays special concerts with musicians and organic instruments. 

Adhesive is built upon the most melodic, groovy and emotional electronic sounds apart from having small doses of experimentation. This sonic structure is made up of cosmic noise, sci-fi sounds, soundtracks, IDM, electro, shoegaze, krautrock, hip-hop, acid and breaks.

Releases on Pendrive Label, Vocoid, Instituto Humano Audiovisual, Sofa Tunes, El Baile Condal, Several Roots and Nebulae Records.

Adhesive has been participating in Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp 2012 - Madrid.
