The Other Side

MYST-X 1 deals with human hybris, destructive potential and fear on one side, and opening of the senses and realising vibrancy in the world around us on the other side. The sound of the album reflects the diversity of those feelings and perceptions. The psychedelics of the guitar and the electronics are often counteracted by rhythmic and acoustic elements (mostly still electronically produced + the flute in 'Another Flight of Reborn Ikarus', which is a rather powerful and dramatic piece with a strong minimalistic approach.) Other tracks seem to seek a balance between ambience and ambivalence, between excitement, uncertainty and calmness. 'Dorian Revisited' can also be seen and heard as a sound video, here with the title 'Dorian's Fear'. MYST-X 2 is in planning.

The rising of Sirius (Egyptian: Sopdet) at the beginning of the inundation was a particularly important point to fix in the yearly calendar. When the Egyptians saw Sirius rising just before the Sun (5000 years ago that was around June 25th) they knew it would soon be time for the flooding – inundation – of the Nile River, around which, all Egyptian life was woven.

Parker Solar Probe

On a mission to “touch the Sun,” NASA's Parker Solar Probe became the first spacecraft to fly through the corona – the Sun’s upper atmosphere – in 2021. With every orbit bringing it closer, the probe faces brutal heat and radiation to provide humanity with unprecedented observations, visiting the only star we can study up close.

I follow this small Solar Probe from development and launch up to now - when I look up to sun I realize: it is flying around there somewhere, withstanding the solar storm....
