MrHehon (Ian Clayton) is joint owner and head engineer of Montesa Audio residential recording studio in Valencia Spain. He has lived most of this life in the Brighton area, West Sussex England but now resides in Montesa Spain.

He has played keyboards and guitar in pop/rock bands for over20 years as well as producing and engineering for many bands and artist of all genres. He spent 10 years as a lecturer and course leader of music technology teaching many subjects including sound design, music production and business from ND to degree level.
He has always had a fascination with the use of computers in the world of music production, starting in the 1980’s with a Sinclair spectrum linked to a Roland drum machine and Casio synth via midi. This interest combined with a love of song writing and music production resulted in some interesting music collaborations during the 1990’s.

Ian took a break from song writing during his time teaching due to time restraints but has now found the time to once again indulge in his passion of writing and producing.  


I've been working as a studio engineer/producer at Church Road Recording Co. in Hove, UK for over 10 years and have worked with hundreds of bands and artists on numerous independent commercial releases.
I've set up this soundcloud page to showcase some of my recent projects with a view to making new contacts and attracting new clients. 
I'm basically a rock'n'roller. I love 60s psych and garage, girl groups, rock-a-billy, soul, blues and country. My favourite artists include Bo Diddley, Velvet Underground, Lee Hazelwood, Scott Walker, Serge Gainsbourg and the Jesus and Mary Chain. I also revere cinematic composers like Angelo Badalementi, John Barry and Ennio Morricone.
I have a strong interest in the whole history of recorded music and I like to incorporate vintage, analogue equipment and techniques into my work wherever possible.
I'm also a musician performing guitars, bass and vocals in various bands and projects. At the moment I'm in Palm Springs, Mudlow, Fire Eyes and Beat Hotel.

FIRE EYES are ex-Drift Records collaborator Sally Megee, formerly of Cottonmouth Rocks and Paul Beat from dirty blues rockers Mudlow. "Cherry Black" finds the pair experimenting with slo-mo Bo Diddley drum-machine beats, quivering tremelo guitars and trademark haunting vocals. B-side "Out Of Dust" is an eerie yet passionate lament for a burnt-down home, featuring Maria Marzaioli on violin.
FIRE EYES' cinematic sound draws influence from pop, blues and rock'n'roll whilst harbouring themes of magic, sleaze, big cars and motels. All the while driving whirlwind-style from the forest to the desert under a ceiling of stars towards the distant horizon.
