This Town's gone from black to blue.
and I know it's no good start,
but it does take my mind afar.

No good rumor sticks around for good,
it always aims to please but lets off as the biggest tease.
Whether the rumors are from me or you,
it becomes a two-way street in which we hope to never meet.

since we've been seen around with someone new.
a feeling i deemed so untrue.
and i never gave it that much thought,
'til you came 'round here looking good.

this town's never made sense,
but it never stopped the trend of people trying to pretend.
treating their feelings like they're so passed tense.
hopelessness and numb is what this whole town has become.
