We are thrilled to launch our Áspora Sessions with a great mix from a project close to our hearts: Ñamu.

Ñamu, derived from the latin American Spanish expression "como uña y mugre" (like nail and dirt), signifies inseparable friends. This dynamic duo consists of eÑe (@doble-enhe) from Ecuador and Simón JaVa (@simonjava) from Colombia, who is also a co-founder of Áspora. Together, they form two-thirds of the Berlin based project Necios.

Known for their exquisite and unpredictable curation, Ñamu's performances are a journey through diverse musical influences, defying linearity and genre boundaries. This mix epitomizes their unique style and innovation featuring bass-heavy breaks, cumbia rebajada, neo-perreo, baile funk, and Latin club beats.

Áspora Sessions 001 w/ Ñamu

Our second Áspora Session is here, featuring two faces from the Áspora crew: índigo (@iindigo505) and BNYI (@bnyiii).

These two's pure connection bring complicity and driving energy to their work. The Nicaraguan-Venezuelan duo knows how to light up a dance floor and for the first time, they're bringing their fire together online with this special set.

Recorded on February 24 2024, this DJ set took place at W1 in Leipzig during the “Stronger Together” event, organized by the leipzig-based Kiebitz (@kiebitzcrew) Collective. The event included panel discussions on the ongoing situation in Gaza and Germany, featuring groups like Palestine Speaks (Palästina Spricht), Handala Leipzig, JID Leipzig, Occupied News, and Jewish Voice (Jüdische Stimme), moderated by SoliCrew.

It was an emotional night where dancing became a form of resistance. índigo and BNYI captured the uncertainty and tension of the moment, blending their signature high-energy style made of heavily percussive, high-paced, and bouncy passages with bassy breaks. Emotions peaked towards the end when they dropped NXODXXP’s (@deep-code-966906076) remix of Dami Falastini, released on March 20, 2024, by Berlin-based label GLANZ + ELEND (@glanzundelend), as part of a fundraiser supporting children’s relief in Gaza. This track brought a final turn into trancey dembow beats, wrapping up a beautiful night.

NXODXXP is all about crafting raw, tribal drum rhythms. Their selections breathe life into ethereal, enveloping sounds, mixing percussive patterns from hard drum to breaks, blending seamlessly with the darkest Latin club beats. With a keen sense of their unique sound, they've electrified dance floors and now, for the first time, they're doing it on our platform.

In this extended session, it feels like we're journeying through different phases. Starting with atmospheric, bass-heavy vibes reminiscent of Gqom and Hard Drum, they set the stage for a percussive adventure. As the Latin club rhythms take over, we're treated to smoother, yet still infectious tracks that keep the energy high. NXODXXP’s signature touch—guaracha in its many forms—takes center stage, driving the set forward. The journey continues with pulsating club sounds, reaching a peak with a driving, liquid trance that transitions beautifully into an epic close with NXODXXP’s Dami Falastini edit, a standout from our last session. It's a banger and the perfect way to wrap things up.

Recorded at "La Cumbre del Club", the first of many gatherings of the emerging Latinx music-scene that took place in Berlin on August 9. 2024. We would like to thank Raspa Recs (@raspa.recs) and Trampa(@traaampaaa) for spaces that allow us to share our thoughts and feelings with the diaspora <3. 

This simposio included a round-table discussion on how to support Latinx DJs, Producers, Labels and Collectives, featuring wonderful peeps from Calentura, Ruta, Safada, Metarave, Delirio, Widows, Neowarras, Choka as well as the striking performers: Miel and Divina Niña. 

This fiery night was overflowed with emotion, a high drive for dance and descadereo total, as índigo loves to provide the unforgettable when they get behind the decks.

As the weather cools down, our fifth Áspora Session is here to heat things up, featuring a very special guest: DJ NO PARE (@djnopare). We’re thrilled to welcome this dear friend of ours and a resident of the Colombian label RUTA (@rutamp3), a project that holds a special place in our hearts.

DJ NO PARE arrives on Áspora with a curated set of classic reggaeton tracks that once stirred controversy for their raw, gritty style. These early 2000s sounds were unapologetically bold, with explicit lyrics that touched on partying, betrayal, street life, love, and breakups, embodying the underground club scene of the time. This set is a tribute to the era that shaped DJ NO PARE’s youth in Colombia—neighborhood block parties, baggy clothes, and sweat-drenched dance floors—a nod to the roots of reggaeton culture that influenced an entire generation.
