“Umgqibelo” is a show hosted by D[Nowhere]J (on a Euro and Asia tour), currently in residency at Oroko Radio, and has appeared on other platforms such as Gimic Radio (Bxl), Rinse (UK), and HOR (BLN). The show aims to educate, celebrate, and unearth Gqom music, culture, and practitioners. Each episode offers a short introduction, 1 hour mix and live performance thats an exploration of the genre’s journey—from its inception to the present and into the future.

"IS AN INTRODUCTION NEEDED" opens the journey into my upcoming EP "Test Market: Pixanoswing vs Gqoza V1. 
This single focuses entirely on the Pixanoswing side of the project — the groove, the swing patterns, the melodic bounce and rhythmic pocket that define the style.

Pixanoswing in this track carries a darker melodic bounce, grounded in an Amapiano groove that drives the rhythm forward. It introduces the mood of the EP by blending atmosphere with movement — a sound that sets the tone before the heavier Gqoza direction arrives later in the project.

The two sub-genre's in this EP are sub-genre's I created and am pioneering myself. Pixanoswing is a sub-genre of Amapiano that blends the bounce and log-drum groove of Amapiano with influences from Afroswing, dark R&B, and elements of Gqom. It carries a darker melodic mood, smoother swing patterns, and a rhythmic pocket that feels emotional. 

Gqoza on the other hand is an emotional, more atmospheric branch of Gqom. It keeps the raw drum energy of Gqom but adds deeper textures, space, and mood — making it more expressive, cinematic, and feeling-driven.

Every track on this page is created through AI, shaped by my own direction from the first prompt to the final master. I define the themes, build the prompts myself and guide the system toward the sound I want. After generation, I take the music apart with a stem splitter, rebalance individual elements and adjust volumes with intent. When a track needs more character, I add new layers or replace parts to strengthen the arrangement. The workflow blends technology with craft, and the final sound always passes through my hands before it reaches you.

This project exists because I work in the technology space and wanted to explore what these tools can really do. It is an experiment, not a path to fame. My goal is to show what is possible when human creativity and AI capability meet with purpose. Everything here is built to demonstrate new ways of making music, new workflows and new possibilities for anyone willing to innovate.
