I'm a sound engineer from Glasgow in Scotland and I am Prototron.

Prototron is a chiptune project and exercise in musical minimalism. 6 tracks, 3 plugins and just three drum samples of kick snare and closed hi-hat (Nes music didn't tend to have cymbals) which created a challenge in itself trying to write tracks which were reasonably varied  and interesting with so few textures.

It's all a bit of fun and a love of retro video games but I hope you enjoy it!

Playing around with a Volca Keys and the ControlChange8 M4L plug-in to drive some automation while I was waiting on some other stuff happening. Running off of Ableton's Arpeggiator and through some Soundtoys plugins. Not bad for a cheap little synth, huh?
