ACT 6 - neuronal cascade 

“Wave” is a sonically rich and immersive work that blends a wide variety of instrumentation, themes and effects processing to create a multilayered soundscape. Using loop modules and a combination of instrumental and electronic layering, the composition weaves together complex and dynamic textures that transport the listener into a beautifully crafted labyrinth of sound and emotion; immersing them in a dreamlike experience. 

However, the listener may or may not be prepared for unexpected twists and turns as the composition unfolds…

Wave

ACT 2 - clouds

This Flute Suite on which the album title is based, is a series of three musical compositions that explore the development of the “android”. 

The first piece, “I. Cirrus” is an organic and pure composition that emphasizes the breath as the foundational beginning to the story. It is also a fundamental aspect of life and humanity as a whole not influenced by technology nor the possibilities of the future. 

The second piece, “II. Nimbostratus” combines solo flute clarity with electronic elements, reflecting the world we live in today where technology plays a significant role in our daily interactions and existence. 

The final movement, “III. Mammatus” is a foreshadowing of the complete synchronization and the inevitable symbiosis with technology and the future. The use of electronic manipulation to create the last movement allows for full exploration of the sonic capabilities and the improvisatory nature of the music leads to an exciting array of outcomes. 

Though the last movement incorporates human performers for the percussion and electric bass parts, it is my impertinent action to do so which I leave for interpretation. 

Through this progression of movements, the audience is taken on a journey that encompasses the past, present and future which explores harmonic as well as rhythmic ideas through the use of electronics and improvisation as well as the evolution of the “android” character and its relationship to humanity and technology.

III. Mammatus

ACT 1 - ambiguity of meaning

Music possesses a specific heightened emotional connection; from the start of the musical composition, regardless of what style, one seems to be drawn into the surrealistic emotional ambiguity the composer chooses to unveil. 

In that scenario, can we, the listener, ever fully understand the meaning behind the composition without actual words? Does any composition without words ever truly depict concrete meaning that words attempt to convey?

As an example, if I say “I am going to Central Park, at 8AM, to have my morning coffee with my friend Maks”, the sentence explains exactly what, when, where and with whom I am going to interact.

Without any doubt of meaning and much understanding we are able to recognize the lack of ambiguity and confusion in the sentence presented above.
With music and it's constant variable alterations, the listener is only able to ascertain the emotional aspects of what the composer is trying to evoke and perhaps the imagery as well as space of what the composition reminds one of; but it's almost impossible to guide the listener on a concrete walk of understanding and clarity without words as that sentence presented earlier so easily does. 

The listener may wander off into a path that the composer didn't intend on; which I like to believe is why music is so magical and beautiful. 
The journey, which one embarks on, at the start of any artistic endeavor changes during the course of the experience regardless of what the initial intent of the artist was. 

One might say, that constitutes musical art or any art form as a matter of fact but what if it was possible to combine clarity of language comprehension and ambiguity of musical language to take the listener on a journey through musical and emotional realms, with clarity of understanding or at least giving them the tools, which may reveal the composition to have both a surrealistic feeling and concrete meaning? 

The piece, titled “Bricolage”, which means construction or creation from a diverse range of available things, uses many sounds we hear almost every day. But the underlying rhythm of the whole piece uses morse code to depict literal word meaning. 

Without interfering with the traditional experience of just simply listening, my composition gives concrete meaning to musical ideas for the ones who are looking for it. In case one is interested to learn what was being said in the underlying rhythm of the track, I attached the full poem below.

When the mood sets in and the time stands still
The moonlight shines on all the strangers walking by
The ocean lightened up like a sky of glazed firework display
One can’t dream of despair
One can only hope for desolation
Of every dishonest action one took
Because the beauty of that silent and peaceful evening sky
That’s painted by the brush of a master yet unknown but great at heart
Displays the unmistakable overture of joy and glory
One seems to undervalue during one's lifetime
Us simply glorified by the buried imagination of human feeling
Connected by the unexplained devotion to emotion
And colors, Oh the colors! 
That so scary and terrifying at first
Seem to turn and twist into the most extricate ideas one possess
Where one sees a vision the other side sees distress and dangerous possibilities
Degrading the peaceful life one lived before
But the view so breathtaking is only to prove treacherous shall twist
Where one sees beauty the other side bleeds fate.

Bricolage

ACT 1 - ambiguity of meaning

The program has crashed…Transmissions are broken…You’re left misunderstood…But it’s all been plainspoken. 

Poem:

Are you listening?
But really.... Are you listening?
Good.
In the event that you are not listening
Or... by accident your mind wanders off…
You will miss things... crucial things
That will make your head pound.
And your thoughts won’t be able to gain ground
From the endless sounds of inception
That went unnoticed or maybe slipped into your unconscious mind
And all the confusion and chaotic minutes that passed on by 
Turned into something more
Something that could open up the doors
But I will not pause... I will not rehash myself...
And you will not interfere.

Let me disabuse you of the idea that because you are where you are... 
And I am where I am... that you are in control.
You are wrong. I know things you do not.
What I need from you is simple curiosity
And the time which is the most crucial thing one can ask of another; In order…
to reveal to you something you have heard before
But it slipped unnoticed a hundred times or more.

On the off chance that you can't focus on this...
Then please leave the room.
