The homie Benji B has a stellar radio show on BBC/Radio1. When he did a a special on my hometown of Montreal (March 2016) he was gracious enough to ask me to make a special mix for it. So I attempted to toss a bunch of genres and eras (and languages!) in a 30 min mix. I asked my boy Simahlak to help me brush up with some more recent talent, since I actually left Montreal 10 years ago, and this is what I came up with. Enjoy my wonderful city.

Boiler Room asked me to participate in their Mixtape series by picking a genre of music that I grew up on... So I chose Mid- to Late-90s undergorund/backpack Hip Hop. This was the scene that I really embraced when I was starting to DJ. And the indie mentality of that era was a huge influence on starting Fool's Gold 10 years later.

Big Beat Radio: EP #119 - Crooked Colours (Dance Alone Mix)

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.
