Not Safe For Wax slides into it's first release with head honcho Miagma's Her Palms EP, which delivers four cuts of emotive, warehouse ready tunes, thawed out and prepped for these winter months!

The title track sets us off, combining rattling hats, blurry pads and one tough cookie of a kick to make a banger Beato would be proud of. On remix duties is everyone's favorite UK based Spaniard Pépe, bringing us back to those early days of Ibiza with his soaring balearic vibes. 

The B side flips the script on genres entirely, rumbling through with Untitled #3, a breakbeat-to-broken foot of a floor stomper. Finishing out our journey is Anguish Lagoon; a proper tribute to junglists and jungles alike!

On his debut transmission for @allcitydublin, @folamour serves up three finely-crafted cuts of loose, heliotropic deep house to attack 2017 on the right foot. Vibraphone blazing, the French producer jazzes things up with a fine mixture of velveteen synth apostrophes and upfront clanky hats doing the yo-yo to bring further jacking efficiency to a well-rounded smokey funk groove. Now that's a party lighter!

hi friends, here is a really special thing that I'm starting today : sharing with you, through this kind of mixtapes (I don't know how regurarly tho), parts of my tracks that won't ever be released or signed, for a lot of reasons, but tracks I still love or find interest in (a way or another).
-
I'm always thinking about ways to keep the link between my studio and you ppl alive and interesting, to inspire things, and I think this is a really cool way to share with you all that stuff that would have been kept in the dark but is brought to life today.
In a way, it could be considered as a secret (unfinished and unbuilt) album (13tracks to keep it lucky) of mine that will exists only here and for you.

We have a bit of a soft spot for @kolour_ltd here at Bolting Bits and it's not only because they were the label to kick off our premiere series. No, we like them because they're a label that's committed to vetting the quality of their output, carefully choosing each and every track they release while consistently signing artists both upcoming and established into their extended family. @ethyene  is probably somewhere in between the two. Definitely not a newcomer anymore, but, with a consistent quality of releases under his belt in just a short period of time, he's definitely becoming a household name.

France is churning out a lot of quality at the moment and we're more than happy to listen, with this young Frenchman being no exception. A co-founder of Moonrise Hill Material, the Lyon-based producer has had successful EPs and singles released on his own label as well as Kyoku Records and Roots for Bloom. His releases to date show a mature and extensive knowledge of music based on the samples dug up for his various releases thus far.

Ethyene's forthcoming five track EP for Kolour LTD 'Clubs, Dubs & Rubs' is no exception to the former fact. All five tunes showcase his wide-spanning taste with samples ranging from hip hop and R&B to disco. The A1 and our premiere "Truth About The Unseen" is most definitely a disco record and one that's likely to cause some noise. The samples on this track come from a rather "Frisky" disco cut from 1979 but Ethyène manages to pull some of the best parts and elegantly re-arrange them into his own piece. The guitar and bass riffs are perfectly complimented by his choice of drums which don't overcomplicate the composition, while the classic-sounding disco strings and hooking vocals really manage to rope you in.

French master of deep melancholy house @folamour is on fire at the moment, with superb EPs on All City Records and Noire Et Blanche in recent and top A&R skills on his Moonrise Hill Material label. This track is taken from his lush EP for Jamie Trench's Roots For Bloom imprint and oozes classy summery charm. Shame it's so bloody cold and grey out...

Saine's Mint EP includes three cuts brimming with hip-hop fused, organic house sound that have always grabbed the attention in the past on labels such as Sleazy Beats, Black Ops, Voyage, Odd Socks and Quartet Series. 

On the EP, the tracks ooze obscure sample wizardry, thumping straight-to-the-bone beats & wavering analogue synth textures which do not disappoint.

Brooklyn-based label @razor-n-tape have maintained a certain prolificness over the last few years that has raised them to royalty status in the disco game. The imprint's formula is simple: straight-up, party-rocking edits for their RnT Edits line, and more house-leaning deep grooves for their Reserve sublabel. In the latest entry in the Edits series, we have a tasty little EP from Ron Bacardi, which is the disco and house alias of London-based techno hotshot @ben-sims.

On the flip comes our premiere for today, "Let The Music Play". Again, Mr. Bacardi brings the uptempo disco feel.  The edit focuses in on the more mesmerizing aspects of the original; with repeating funky riffs, a big time bassline, and a soaring synthesizer looping and layering to great effect.

Soft Drinks with Soda Stream & Childsplay - Mar 2017

London-based producer Nebraska delivers his ‘Drill Deep’ EP with three sample based productions, including the title track that features a disco motif primed for the dancefloor.

Following releases on Rush Hour, Heist, Delusions of Grandeur and Mister Saturday Night​, Nebraska now turns his attention to the Brooklyn based imprint Razor-N-Tape’s sub-label, Razor-N-Tape Reserve. He's been known for a plethora of musical styles, but ‘Drill Deep’ showcases the more upbeat side to his musical persona while also highlighting his skill using eclectic samples.

For producing the material, Nebraska dug deep into his sample library: “Though not all made in the same period of time, these three tracks all feature drums sampled and chopped from vinyl copies of reggae records paired with samples from 70s soul productions – I prefer things to sound a little crackly and rough, that basement-y, sound system type of vibe.”

Nebraska’s ‘Drill Deep’ EP will be released March 29 on "easter yellow" 12" vinyl.
