DON'T WAKE UP FROM YOUR DREAM

Here is something quite different. :-)  

I've been messing around with Blender 2.92.0 and specifically the 2D Animation feature. One of the add-ons to Blender allows you to import 2D images as planes so I created a little character called Vector Owl and then I needed to create  some music to go with the animated intro, all of 10 seconds in length.

Sometimes my plays have a very specific background. A month ago I walked along the street late in the evening. At one of the entrances stood a group of women neighbors quietly talking about something. Ten paces from them, a little further, in the wrong light of the lanterns, I noticed another woman. She seemed to me somewhat larger than it could be in reality. I thought that she must be suffering from gigantism. She was silent and dignified. There was something powerful and proud, something detachedly independent in her figure. When I got closer to her, I almost screamed - it was a mutilated tree trunk! And I realized that, deceived by my poor eyesight and twilight, I saw for a moment the soul of this tree ... I do not like mysticism, but this play of my imagination was amazing. As soon as I moved another twenty steps away from this tree, this melody (theme of the first part) immediately, as it is, sounded in my head. All I had to do was get to the house and hastily put it into sheet music...

This song is part of a bigger project. I really like making sets like “The Couch King Sofa Barn” and “The Horror Host” but they take a long time to make and I don’t think SoundCloud loves the long song format. A number of us are almost finished with another song in this project. I am excited to hear how the whole thing turns out. Massive thanks to everyone presently involved and all my future collaborators in these crazy visions. I hope everyone is having fun on the cloud. I feel like this can be a very fun time for the SoundCloud community as we have all matured and know ourselves in relation to music better. 

This song got started when another rapper first asked me to collaborate with him. He sent me a beat, but I tend to want to focus on original music from our community so I asked Joerxworx if he wanted to work on a beat with only horns in a New Orleans marching funeral band style. Joerxworx agreed and provided me with massive horns to work with! The other rapper was no longer interested by now in working with me so I asked Jon Lock if he wanted to join in and fortunately he agreed, cause I love his funky soulful vocal stylings! Russell did an amazing job mixing and mastering my sloppy drums and the rest of the track to perfection. I was also very fortunate that Wou-Wou & the Wormling was willing to collaborate on art work for this track, fully completing the spirit of community collaboration!

Track shows a very delicate theme and a quite hard-riffed part, both alternating and finally flowing up to an endless symphonic dream (words are half a poem I wrote previously (not these, but lyrics below)).
