Following hot on the heels of his ‘Feelin This EP’ on DFTD in 2013, up-and-coming German producer Aaaron is back and ready for more. His new, three track, ‘What Makes You Itch EP’ sustains the high level production seen in his last work and exhibits the Berlin DJ’s percussive versatility and commitment to rhythm. The title track begins with a chest-thumping tom and kick riff, slowly transforming into a medley of cowbells and evolving synth lines, all of which gets the party started. ‘Cray’ kicks off with pitch shifting cowbells panning back and forth, mixes a catchy vocal sample with an array of percussive snaps and rattles, plus a punchy bass synth. Perhaps the percussive pinnacle of the EP, ‘No Excuse’ feels like a late night drum circle meets fat analogue. Perfect for keeping the night alive, ‘What Makes You Itch EP’ is here to solidify Aaaron’s reputation as one of Berlin’s most important underground hit makers.

Mixed by our dear Alican, the 11-track compilation ranges from the futuristic oriental -Jaen Paniagua's track, named 'Udon', no less- to the old-school popping on Fadel's 'Elle', stopping in at Alican's own pinball-gone-mad creation of 'Machineself’; and Martin Eyerer and Marcelo Roselot's instantly classic bassline on 'The Catwalk'. We’re back for the second remix pack from Sharam’s 2016 album Retroactive.  For this installment, Sharam gave “Techi” to two very distinct Berlin-based producers, Reinier Zonneveld and Aaaron, who each delivered special remixes of the epic tune.

Techno wunderkind Reinier Zonneveld’s mix is full of the dark, intricate details that has propelled his recent success on labels like Suara and Stil Vor Talent.  It’s a driving remix that is streamlined for bangin’ sets and is sure to move a few bodies at Awakenings.

Aaaron dives into a deep and minimal mix that we’ve come to expect from the talented producer.  His second release on Yoshitoshi (following January’s Black Arp EP), it features an array of meticulously synthesized sounds suited for cerebral techno sets.

As with the Arpi remixes, Sharam has crafted a new VIP mix as well to revamp this track for his (and your!) sets.  Enjoy.

We are happy to share with you this exclusive mixtape by Aaaron, who is about to release a new EP on Connected.

Born in West Germany in 1983, Aaaron started collecting & playing Vinyl at the age of 15. One Year later he bought his first sampler and started producing.  Moving to Berlin in 2003 expanded his knowledge to electronic dance music. Berlin was state-of-the-art for genres like House & Minimal Techno back in these days.  In 2013 Aaaron released “Feelin this”, his debut EP which was released on Defected Records and was played & gained broad support from Jamies Jones, MK, Hot Since 82, Claptone, Tensnake, Waifs & Strays, Rampa, Re.You and many more. 

After this, he released in 2014 “Splendid” on Get Physical Music followed by another cutting-edge Ep for Defected Records named “What makes you itch”. Besides, he’s got an array of other collaborations and releases put out on imprints like Cocoon, Defected, Connected, Get Physical, Yoshitoshi, O’rs and Solide.

Aaaron`s home base label is now "Connected" which is run by Stereo MC's where he released his first EP in 2016 called "Entropy".

Norman Weber, half of Luna City Express explores an exotic and upbeat soundscape in his Deep Vision EP, with fellow German talent Mathias Kaden and newcomer Aaaron on remix duties.
A collaboration with vocalist Ken, Deep Vision brings together melodic fragments and lush vocals spiralling through ricocheting drums and dreamy synth echoes. Powerful, yet deeply harmonious, it creates an environment in which the groove moves fluidly, making it a perfect dancefloor weapon.
U.F.O. is a track that stays true to its name, with hypnotising whirlwind synths building up an alien-like groove. Backed by trippy, distorted vocals and gyrating loops, it showcases a quirkier side of the producer.
Aaron’s rework of Deep Vision is a deep, minimal slice, loaded with gradually escalating pads and traces of clangorous energy atop Ken’s initial vocal loops.
Veteran Mathias Kaden reimagines Deep Vision into a moody, mesmeric version for dark spaces. Equally compelling, it offers up a whole new world of textures and loose rhythms that aptly complement the
original.
