The concept behind this split 12” is simple. Two artists who are divided by the Atlantic Ocean but unified by a love of classic New Beat sounds. Andi, boss of the New York City-based Synthicide record label/club night and Aufnahme + Wiedergabe recording artist, combined forces with Sheffield’s Industrialist and lover of underground Body Music, Randolph & Mortimer, to present their own interpretation to the unmistakable Belgian genre.

Thus, “Torque Force” was forged. A landscape where seedy neon-soaked city streets merge with the clang of hammers and of industry: Gotham versus The Steel City. Andi brings pure style to Side A with driving beats and rolling, lo-fi percussion overlaid by seriously funky basslines and ominous samples. Side B is jammed with the unmistakable dancibility found in Randolph & Mortimer’s oeuvre that forces the body to move —with intense, in-your-face synth lines and precise beats, there is no choice but to dance.

The four tracks on “Torque Force” are not just uber cool dancefloor killers, but could easily soundtrack a slew of 1980s dystopian cyber-sleaze movies. She must have violated the program…

For the second round of the SYNTHICIDE split EP series, two projects merge together on a release that combine opposing perspectives on EBM music. Welcome Klack versus Inconscio Viola.

The lead track, “The Exorcist III,” features the collaborative project of Italian producers Francesco Baudazzi of Violet Poison/Diana Berti (Veleno Viola) and Andrea Riberti of Unconscious (Detriti, X-IMG) under the moniker Inconscio Viola. It's clear that the duo make a sensible pairing with their shared roots in vintage horror movies and nunsploitation film influences. With ghostly samples and a slithering bassline, the track snakes between the recognizable aesthetics of both producers.

Chris Shape aka Cristian Camporesi an Italian producer, live performer and sound designer for over 25 years. In 2004 he started a collaboration with dj Francesco "Franz“ Spazzoli in the critically acclaimed electro duo Franz & Shape, where Chris Shape could give vent to its Synth-Wave and EBM roots. They played live for almost a decade in the best clubs and festivals around the world and also have cooperated with: 2 Many Djs, Tiga, Jagz Kooner, Motor (Bryan Black), David Carretta, GD Luxxe, The Hacker, Gesaffelstein, Julien K, Perspects, Dirk Da Davo (Neon Judgement), Mount Sims, and many others. They made an album on Relish rec. “Acceleration” in 2007 and lots of singles & remixes for different labels such as: NovaMute, Turbo Recordings or Citizen Records. After some years spent in “research” and a new work as a music publisher, Chris Shape decided to start a solo career by doing just what he likes: Techno Body Music. "Eat the bankers" was his first EP: a perfect example of powerful “not compromised” mix between techno, electro and ebm with a very special guest: Bryan Black (Black Asteroid), who gives his voice in “Eat the bankers” track. This great artist collaborates now with the young catalan producer Dave Inox discovered on Unknown Pleasures Records french label. Their EP of 3 powerful tracks will soon burn the dancefloors of all the world.
