Jacaszek's "Elegia" is taken from 'SMM: Context,' the first in a series of SMM-focused compilations featuring exclusive content from hand-picked artists. SMM is an unknown acronym used to evaporate the already-unspooling musical boundaries between classical minimalism, electronic and drone composition, film soundtracks, and fragile imaginary landscapes.  

NOTE: The 2xLP version is a limited edition of 800 units and comes in a 4-panel gatefold “tip-on” vinyl jacket (thick and heavy), 180 gram vinyl, and includes inner art sleeves. It weighs approximately 1.9 lbs.

Album consist of previously unpublished interpretations of traditional church songs. The pieces, have been created over last few years mostly as commissioned works, and now finally collected and released on the CD by Polish National Center for Culture. OKA is a metaphorical journey between various worldwide tribes. Starting and closing with a lullaby from a mother to her child, the 9 tracks depict a day of passing by rain dances, odes to forest spirits and water, child’s plays, dugout canoe trips, hunting and gathering songs and vodun ceremonies...
This project brings ethnic sounds from different communities out of Africa, the Caribbean, Oceania and electronics together and combines worldwide atmospheres, blending current sonorities and ancient samples.
Le Motel spent years collecting samples all around the world (mostly ethnic music related to ceremonies), field recording in the jungle and is using sounds from his environment. He aims to connect those different cultures and periods within his music.
