What a delight to finally debut on the absolute monster of a machine, The BoomiCorn - AfrikaBurn 2023! 🦄

Some of you may know that I was due to play on the Bass Beast at AfrikaBurn in 2022, but was FORCED to go to the hospital after destroying my ankle. (Worst part is the doctor, in essence, told me to walk it off!) 🚑

So yes, I am hella excited to finally get my shot. 🔥
Even though I didn't get a chance to play on The Boomicorn last year, I heard the bass from a country mile away. Seriously, seriously, seriously, it’s like that rig was built for me to play on. 🎶

So, with a year to plot, and to plan, and to scheme, and to practice, I collected a library of top flipping draw speakers and a couple of tricks which helped me deliver the hiding of a lifetime. 💥

The basic premise was to roll in at 122 bpm, get up to 125 bpm rather quickly, and play in key.

Basic stuff. 🔊
But, the focus was then on three aspects.

Purposefully catching loops that were too long or too short.
Keep driving the bass of the outgoing track until the police came to shut me down.
Pitch bending myself into a different reality. 🌌
All of which I executed rather well, and I am over the moon with how it has turned out. 🌕

Before I started playing, my new(ish) good friend Rich came to me and said, “Jeff, we have two hours left on these batteries, can you drain them?” 💪

My response was, “Fuck yes I can drain your batteries” 💥

I drained them in 1 hour and 30 minutes. Powerful stuff if you ask me. ⚡

There is only really one thing I have to say about this one.

That was JOLLY GOOD! 🤘

💿 Eine Frage des Timings 💿

✍️ Die Anziehung zu einem anderen Menschen geschieht einfach. Zwar haben wir einen gewissen Einfluss auf diesen Vorgang, können ihn aber weder kontrollieren noch direkt steuern. Der Verstand würde zwar gerne, doch die Qualität des Herzens ist meistens mächtiger. Es mag hunderte rationale Gründe geben, warum es gerade nicht passt und sein soll. Der Kopf findet immer einen Makel, eine Unstimmigkeit oder etwas Mangelhaftes.
Dennoch ist es wichtig zu erkennen, dass Timing eine entscheidende Rolle spielt. Manchmal treffen zwei Menschen zu einem unpassenden Zeitpunkt aufeinander. Einer von ihnen bereits in einer Beziehung, der andere eventuell beruflich oder persönliche stark eingespannt. In solchen Momenten mag die Anziehung zwar spürbar sein, doch äußere Umstände verhindern eine potenzielle Verbindung. Es ist jedoch auch möglich, dass der richtige Zeitpunkt irgendwann kommt. Manchmal müssen wir geduldig sein und darauf vertrauen, dass das Leben zusammenführt, was zusammen gehört. Es kann eine Weile dauern, bis beide Personen dafür bereit sind. 

🎵 Der heutige KataHaifisch Podcast ist mal wieder ein absoluter Stimmungsmacher und musikalischer Sonnenschein. Kreiert wurde das Set von Kosi, einem passionierten DJ aus Hannover der dem Veranstaltungskollektiv Dunkle Vorahnung angehört. Im Rahmen dieses Zusammenschlusses hat Kosi bereits unzählige Partys und Events im und um Hannover kuratiert und bespielt.

Not only because of the 25th anniversary of our beloved, cosy and fun festival and my dearest friends/loyal fans who come all the way from Belgium, but also because of the many warm and meaningful encounters I had there.

Debuting his Damusque alias, Spanish artist David Museen brings years of industry experience to this project. Hailing from Vitoria-Gasteiz, he has established himself as one of Spain's most versatile electronic artists, with releases on Toolroom, Kittball, and CR2 Records supported by icons like Hernan Cattaneo and Marco Carola. His founder role at TrueStoryComic Label reflects his dedication to pushing musical boundaries across melodic techno, Afro house and progressive styles.

Teaming up with UK producer Erik Christiansen (UV, Freegrant, CR2), the duo crafts a masterful blend of their signature sounds. Christiansen's UK-flavored house sensibilities perfectly complement Damusque's Spanish-influenced rhythms, resulting in two tracks that showcase their combined technical prowess and creative vision.
