Dan has been a DJ since he was a teenager, starting his first mixing experiences with hardcore, trance, hard house at the young age of thirteen. Thanks to all his different backgrounds he managed to forge and create his style, a style that undoubtedly distinguishes him, and that is leading him to be known everywhere in the current techno scene, and thanks to which he was able to release music with some of the best tickets around. Undoubtedly one of the best artists at the moment, supported worldwide from some of the best artist, which we are happy to have in this release. VALAK is a project curated by Lisbon based Bruno Matias based on industrial rhythms, more specifically industrial techno and slow hardcore.
My musical roots originate from Industrial Hardcore, which play a big role in influencing my production embodied by distortion, hard percussion and strong synthesizers.
I started to produce industrial hardcore between 190 / 200bpm where i got a taste for those large and heavy kicks full of breaks paired with distortion, strong synthesizers and heavy percussion.
My desire for change lead me to now start producing industrial techno at a slower pace, around 145 / 155bpm which I have been enjoying a lot.
Expect hard industrial rhythms, distortion and crunchy kicks with VALAK!

This collaboration is dear to us for many reasons.

First, we intrinsically love fluid's music and what the artist stands for. A driving, dark, atmospheric, and everything-encompassing sound that one can get lost in. Second, we're queer, and we want to go beyond the current struggle of being accepted but promote true equality. Coming from the scientific community and being neuropsychologists, we know that for equal treatment, it does-not-fucking matter what sex you're born with or what gender you identify with. Inequality is a social construct imposed by individuals. We're sick and tired of this discussion and work towards a world where everyone is treated equally and not based on arbitrary societal norms. We made a conscious decision not to be a queer only project for that specific reason. Instead, our aim is to treat music and artists based on merit, resulting in a healthy mix of people from various backgrounds.
