‘highest, most exalted one’ is the spiritual successor to ‘22’. It is my own personal letter to Aaliyah, and all that she has done within the short amount of time she was here. From her humble spirit, to her laugh and wit, Aaliyah proved that anything is possible. At the mere age of 22, she inspired a whole generation in front of her. Not many artists have that to their credit. Not only was she embraced by the people around her, legends such as Whitney Houston and Janet Jackson were willing to welcome her with open arms. They all saw something within Aaliyah - a spark, a drive, someone who was destined to make her mark. And this project is my own thank you to her. My thank you to everything that she has gotten me through, and everything that she has done for not only the music industry, but for the people she has touched.
