Fraag: 
Sergey Piskunov aka Fraag - Dj and one of the organizers of the only_techno rave in the city of Cherepovets. He started his DJ career in 1999 and from that moment he searched for himself and his ideology through the prism of club dance music, and found it in techno and underground culture - realizing that ascetic raves in abandoned factories are his element, and ravers are kindred spirits. Sergey collects and plays his sets exclusively on vinyl, give preference to experimental sound rather than commercial one - mixing different techno subgenres - from buzzing drones to aggressive tracks with a powerful kick, achieve that very rave atmosphere - which unites people on the dance floor.

Refracted // PoleGroup, Mind Express, Silent Season

Music is all about connections, and is at it´s most vital when it speaks to you in a voice only you seem to hear. 
For Berlin-based Refracted, electronic music, and techno in particular, is the chosen medium to find his unique voice, to connect. 
And a growing number of people, wanting more from techno than formulaic entertainment and a soundtrack to dance to, are
connecting with his particular vision and peculiar sound. 
This might be because Refracted´s music feels as fundamentally human as it soundsotherworldly. 
It is techno more as an idea and conduit, than as an easilylabeled
sound. It is dance music where layered rhythms act almost on a
neural, sub epidermal level, while moving and evolving soundscapes
acquire a tactile, understated physicality. 
Paramount examples of this can be found on releases on Refracted's own Mind Express label, and on celebrated labels like PoleGroup and Canadian ambient/deep-techno imprint Silent Season. 
His path unravelling further, a mind set on favouring unflinching quality over quantity.
The dynamics created by this yearning to displace us from space and self, while rooted in a elemental, naturalistic approach, which catalyzes inner self discovery, are also at the foundation of his DJing. 
Spiritual, almost meditative, his sets possess a kinetic energy as well, which is a clear indication of a DJ who knows the fundamental role of dancing as part of the ritual. 
He wants to take us somewhere, the “where” being of our own choosing, the trail never being the most travelled.

“Purveyor of wiered, infectious dance grooves and a feel-good atmosphere.”
That’s how Neptic (Real Name: Neo Rangata) describes himself as a DJ. Never afraid to experiment behind the decks, his emotive musical selections are his own therapy. Having grown up on with a surrounding of Djs and Producers, with different styles and tastes, all which became infused with his own love for both nature and new unusual sounds, Neptic ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influence. Today, this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: beautiful synth work, ethereal backdrops, brooding basslines, and dub feel… all on top of a pronounced foot-shuffling house beat.

Neptic is no stranger to the ups-and-downs of a small yet growing musical scene. Though he loves playing in clubs and special events, his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes.

Well, where do we start…. It all began on a warm Saturday in the pre-pyranese mountains at Paral.lel festival. We found our perfect chill out spot and were settling into a cold beer while our fellow campers slowly appeared from their tents to start a new day of music and connection. We happily surrendered to the beautiful surroundings and let the music carry us away… and then came MouseDown, an artist we hadn’t heard of before, but one we certainly wouldn’t forget in a hurry.

For the next three hours, mouseDown took us on a perfect, slowly evolving journey, creating a stunning, electric atmosphere that left us in a state of wonder and gratitude. Storytelling at its finest!

We immediately reached out to connect and express our appreciation, inviting mouseDown to be part of On the 5th Day’s podcast series in honour of that memory and moment in time, and to bring you a slice of the inspiration. mouseDown went onto record a very special vinyl only, 2.5 hour mix just for On the 5th Day, and here it is.

Here is an artist working absolute magic with heart, soul and humility, sweeping us music lovers off of our feet in the process! When he’s not DJ’ing, he’s producing under the alias, ABSIS... one to watch!

Adhémar is a multi-disciplinary artist, establishing his universe through music and visual works.
Constantly in search of the luminous quality of sounds, in a world made of shadows and light, his music is closely linked to his plastic work.
This obsession with shadows leads him to think and create spaces, atmospheres that focus on the lightness and poetry of light. The idea of "narrative potential of music", allows us to confront the psychological and philosophical journey with a particular relationship on what is alive and what surrounds us (whether it is the material, immaterial world, the fact that everything is constantly becoming). With a particular rigour for transitions, whether in his own production or in his DJset, his universe is built little by little, with the passing of sound transformations and the light and poetic transportation of it all.

Solace - Aarden Records Podcast 020

Aarden Records, Belgium's newest  techno label is the result of the joined forces by Mike Deem, Wolken and Sedric, 3 techno dj’s from Belgium with a love for the deeper side of techno. Their mutual interest  for deep and atmospheric techno brought them together to create a platform for the music they love… Aarden Records saw the light.  

 Aarden can be translated as “Grounding”, feeling good at the place where you are, be in flow, finding home. When we play our sounds we feel united with the music, the crowd, the flow to become something bigger… Everything and everyone is connected.       

Aarden Records wants to be a platform where producers can “Aarden”, where they can fully express themselves in who they are as a music lover, a producer, a dj and connect with a broader community. Inspired by labels like Systolic, Oslated, Circular Limited, ...    

 Besides releases on Aarden Records, the crew will also bring a monthly podcast by dj’s and producers related to the label and Aarden label-nights will be organized.
