Castle Rock looks sick dude, nice flowers too

NOTE: This song is on the upcoming new album! -- old info: This quick demo I recorded last month for February Album Writing Month 2014 is called "Every Distant Cousin" -- I had two sources of inspiration: Carl Sagan, and Dave Carter. Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer's song "Gentle Arms of Eden" is a favorite, and I wanted to try to write something that would complement that song in theme. Carl Sagan inspired me as a kid to think about our place in the universe and made me really think about the possibility of life beyond our planet. I'm pretty sure that if we had a strong enough telescope we could see lots of eyes looking right back at us. And I think we are all connected: we all share the same space stuff in the material in our bodies and biosphere. 

When she looked up
To the sky last night
She saw our life
On a beam of light
That left the Earth
Countless years ago

She wished for
Just a little more time
To reflect her own light
Back to yours and mine
So we could see
Her light too

We are energy beams
