In this book you will find my story as a kid from Iowa who joined the military and rose to the senior most enlisted position in the entire US Armed Forces, the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (SEAC) through an almost 38-year career. I discuss key issues of living this warrior life including leadership, combat, PTSD, resilience in the face of adversity, and the importance of family. I will discuss my time as the SEAC and my focus of delivering the strategic “why” to the troops and the pulse of the force to the Chairman, Secretary of Defense, Congress, and the Administration.

John Wayne Troxell joined the US Army after graduating from high school and served for almost 38 years culminating his service as the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (SEAC). His service included five combat tours to include the combat parachute assault in Panama during Operation Just Cause, Operation Desert Shield/Storm in Iraq, two tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom, and one in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Troxell created the term and program PME Hard (physically, mentally, and emotionally hard) to maximize battlefield performance and save lives and created the E Tool Nation, based off of his inspirational ultimatum to terrorists of “Surrender or Die” or face death by bombing, getting shot or if need be, beaten with entrenching tools! In his post military life, he serves multiple businesses as a consultant, ambassador, or advisor. He and his wife Sandra have been married for 39 years.

This one is straight from one of the best prog/rap rock bands of all time! Not only is this band one of our favorites, but they're a local NorCal band, and we've had the pleasure seeing them live many times over the years (most recently at AfterShock 2022). This song - Scars - has been one of our favorites since it first hit the airwaves 15 years ago. It's been covered many times, so we were very careful about how we "reimagined" this version. We wanted something that hadn't exactly been done already. Overall, we think we did a decent job recreating this song while pulling in a female lead, EMO vibe. Papa Roach rocks!!!

In Exodus 31:3, we read about Bezalel, a skilled craftsman who was divinely appointed and filled with the Spirit of God to be able to work with skill in various crafts. This highlights the biblical understanding that skill is not solely a result of human effort, but is a divine gift from God Himself. Therefore, by seeking God's guidance and relying on His grace, you can tap into the source of all skill. The K.I.S.S. ~ Skill will bring success! Now, the process of gaining skill requires consistent effort, dedication, and a desire to continually learn. Proverbs 2:2-6 speaks of the importance of diligently seeking wisdom, understanding, and knowledge. By immersing yourself in the study of God's Word and seeking His guidance through prayer, you open yourself up to the possibility of acquiring skill in various areas of your life. Furthermore, Scripture emphasizes the role of God as our ultimate source of strength. Philippians 4:13 13&nbsp;I can do all things&nbsp;through&nbsp;Christ who strengthens me. You are to rely on God's power, not rest in your own strength. So, in situations where more strength is needed, you can trust in God's provision and find comfort in the knowledge that He will equip you for success. God's strength becomes the foundation upon which your skill is built. By surrendering your life to God and submitting your desires and plans to His will, you place yourself in a position to receive His guidance, wisdom, and strength. Proverbs 3:5-6 5&nbsp;Trust in the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6&nbsp;in all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths. When you acknowledge God in all our ways, He will make our paths straight, leading you towards skillful living and ultimately, success. Remember that skillfulness, in the Biblical context, extends beyond worldly success and achievements. It includes living a life of integrity, using your skills to serve others, and glorifying God through your actions.
