After finding a whole new generation of fans when Disclosure sampled his 2002 hit "Pass Out" on their recent "Bang That" single, Detroit's Filthiest (fka DJ Nasty) is back with a new collection of ghettotech bangers. Underground Sound Of Detroit is the name of the collection and we've got "Work Your Body" to share with you today. He first began his career as Digitek twenty years ago, having moved with his parents from Baghdad to Detroit during the Iraq/Iran war, before shifting through a number of different aliases. Though DJ Nasty is probably his main alias, it's his Detroit's Filthiest moniker that's most prolific these days. "Work Your Body" might sound a lot more slickly produced than some of his older releases; teaming up with Big Dope P's Moveltraxx has done nothing to temper the staggering power of those fat, round ghettotech drums and it's sounding heavier than ever.

Wild Oats proudly presents a new 7 inch from Kyle Hall entitled ‘Eutrophia Sevan’. This project is an ode to the earth and its plant based life forms that give us sustenance, nurturing, and knowledge through both its cultivation, observation, and consumption.

Additional Notes & Thoughts:

It is my understanding that all energetic material in which we interact with serves as a software of a kind that is loaded into our systems via our five senses and influence the manner in which we behave and process our realities.

Plants have many ways of interacting with our senses. One form of this sensory interaction with plants is the ingestion of them for the purpose of intoxication. In this form the plant sends information to our neural networks which we interpret as sensation of a shift in our state of mind, body, and spirit. When a plant of this type is in the hands of a creative mind, these shifts in ones perspective can allow for the possibility of the integration of new concepts and ideas that can provide insight in an array of aspects of its consumers life experience. From this unification one now begins to see the connection between things that were once to them seemingly unrelated. These teachings then become motifs that then can be applied to whatever the creative individuals mode of expression is.

Of course we also eat certain plants to provide sustenance, nourishment and satiation. The Sweet Potato root is one of these plants that provide this for us. Having a feeling of being full, nourished, and satisfied gives a stronger capacity to be grounded. Being grounded allows for us to focus and align ourselves with what we must do in order to attract what we personally need in our lives.

Eating a plants fruit, taking its seed and caring for it till it grows into plant itself is a symbolism of the overall connection between all life and all processes that occur with in it. This indicates that plants contain a level of supreme intelligence that can only be tapped into by our communion and honoring of them.

In preparation for his appearance at our Ghetto House Night on 27th of April 2018, Fiedel provided us with this Ghetto mix of his. It was recorded a couple of years ago, but since good music is timeless music, this mix still rocks.
To have a suitable image we were digging deep in his past - believe it or not, the young man in the pic is him. B-Boy style!

bio Fiedel:
Contrast. Objection. Antithesis. This is how you might start an attempt to describe the world. A seemingly chaos of shapes and thoughts that don't belong to each other. An overall image to be found in life and in music. But that's not Fiedel’s view of the world. Where others make distinctions, he sees connections, where others find emptiness, he finds rooms full of opportunities.

Finding those harmonies, connections and contexts marks out his musical work. The synthesis of apparently opposing music, the interaction and the mix of styles and moods, without loosing the storyline, that makes out the characteristic Fiedel sound.
Born and raised in Brandenburg, he finds access to the music through various artists and styles in the mid 1980s. He was influenced by artists of the old school hip hop like Mantronix and Egyptian Lover and the early works of Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk. A very important influence was Monika Dietl’s radio show at Radio 4U in West-Berlin. Her show aroused the fascination and the longing for musical freedom and diversity, that was not possible in former Eastern Germany. Those impressions gave him a first feeling, a first vision of what should become alive later on.
After the wall came down, the way was open to access a fresh scene, and with it came a whole spectrum of new and old music to discover. In the beginning of the 1990s, he started DJing in public as a regular at the Monday events at Subversiv. Shortly after he began his collaboration with his befriended Errorsmith under the name of MMM. They released several productions and play live shows. Since 2000 he is resident at OstGut and later on at Berghain. On the compilation Fünf he had his first solo release on the incorporated Ostgut Ton label, followed by contributions to the compilations Various (2013) and Ostgut Ton | Zehn (2015). In 2012 he eventually founded his own label Fiedelone, to give his own productions a more personal base. In spring 2014 he developed a live set, which he premiered at Berghain. March 2017 saw his first full Ostgut Ton release with the 12" Substance B, followed up by his contribution to the Berghain mixes series in January 2018.
You can say one thing about Fiedel: he is no techno or house stereotype pattern, that you can put randomly on a every evening or club. He is lead by his history, the history of the music and the feeling of the moment to build something new and to capture this very moment. Let it be the straight dark techno of today, banging acid of the 80ies or an electro funk record, Fiedel surprises. He undermines and overrides expectations and refrains to limit the music for any reason. He lets the music speak for itself, through himself.

It is a task Aaron-Carl has done consistently since 1996.  As one of Detroit's most in-demand producers & sought-after remixers, his signature sound crosses genres -- from soulful, gospel-infused House, to the dirtiest ghettotech anthems.

Armed with little more than a cheap keyboard & a four-track cassette tape recorder, Aaron-Carl proved early on that he could hold his own in Detroit's Electronic Music Scene.  When a demo tape landed into the hands of Underground Resistance's "Mad" Mike Banks, Aaron was quickly signed to Banks' Soul City record label.  Even then, Aaron refused to be boxed into one genre.  His first two records were released at the same time:  "Crucified," a soulful deep house vocal, and "Wash It," a cheeky underground club banger.  While both records received great critical acclaim, it was "Down" (an explicit electro-house track on the B-side of "Wash It") that became -- and remains one of Aaron's biggest records to date.

Ron Murphy (NSC Mastering) and "Mad" Mike Banks were strong mentors during that time.  "It wasn't enough for me to write great songs," Aaron says.  "They taught me how to make great RECORDS…" Aaron compares their guidance to boot camp.  "They saw my potential, and wouldn't accept anything less than my best."  He describes, "Mike held meetings with all the producers on the label.  He'd play the hottest tracks at the time, and would challenge us to go home and do better."

When the opportunity came to remix label mate Theresa Stringer's "Round and Round" single, Aaron jumped at the chance.  Though it was very first official remix, it earned Aaron a reputation for what has become his trademark "Wallshaker" beats. 

Aaron-Carl launched his own Wallshaker imprint in 1998 - named after his final 12-inch on Soul City. "Closer" - Aaron's first Wallshaker project, was licensed by Whirling Records (US), but was never released.  His third single, "My House," caught the attention of Philadelphia house label, Ovum Recordings.  The song got licensed and went on to become Aaron's first Billboard Top 40 Dance/Club hit. 

Cementing his powerhouse status in Detroit Electronic Music, Aaron-Carl has remixed some of the Motor City's biggest artists, like Underground Resistance, SCAN 7, Kelli Hand & AUX 88. He has also remixed International artists like Chicago House legend Dajae, Icelandic techno stars Gus Gus, and African jazz great Manu Dibango, to name a few.  Aaron's productions have graced various labels throughout the world, including Subject Detroit, Metroplex, Kompakt, Sirkus and Universal France.  He has also been remixed by some of the industry's top producers, like Ewan Pearson, Doc Martin and Grammy award winner Peter Rauhofer (Club 69). 

Two of Aaron's deep house tracks -- "Sky" (a tribute to his late father) and "Oasis" are featured in the internationally acclaimed House music documentary, "Maestro" by Josell Ramos.

Aaron also holds his own within the Hip Hop community -- particularly among the LGBT Hip Hop circles. Most notably producing hits for legendary rapper Johnny Dangerous, his remix of the infamous "Topsy Turvy" - in which he makes a cameo appearance -- is featured in the Alex Hinton documentary, "Pick up the Mic."

Owning and overseeing the successful Wallshaker Music label plus heading his own music publishing company, Symphonic Storm Music Publishing, Aaron-Carl proves himself as a definite force to be reckoned with - and shows no signs of slowing down.
