PARAGATÉ is the collaboration between Montreal based saxophonist Aaron Leaney, drummer Michel Lambert and acoustic bassist Aaron Lumley. The group focuses primarily in jazz improvisation with a folk or world music sensibility. Leaney describes, "improvisation is used as the vehicle [for the group] to reflect the conditions we are seeing throughout the world today. It's absolutely necessary for people to continue towards a new path or as we're realizing now in Canada, it can even lead to a new home and a path of possibility for people in need."

Aaron Leaney is a Trinidadian-Canadian saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist and composer based in Montreal, QC, Canada. He “has a garrulous, sing-song delivery that calls to mind a relaxed, less possessed Fred Anderson. He’s a natural, like a furry moth at your window” (Signal To Noise). Past collaborators include Guy Thouin, Mas Aya, The Ratchet Orchestra, Chris Dadge,  & David Virelles, to name a few.
