Amirah (Live at UNICEF Fundraiser)

This set is a tribute to our inspirational journey through the middle east. From the Emirati desert, to the white mountains of Teheran, from the island of the Persian Gulf to the peninsula of the Mediterranean coast. We thank the people and artists that we have met through this amazing trip. 
Life is full of surprises and we are looking forward to go fly back there to play and discover more.

Desert Dreams

Originally from Istanbul, Turkey, Tuğçe Kurtiş grew up with a love for music, especially music performance. At age 6, she joined the school choir and started singing. Since then, she performed in countless occasions in Turkey, the US, Brazil, Costa Rica and Paraguay. Tuğçe studied voice, ear training, jazz vocals, and West-African drumming with percussionist Milford Graves and singer & songwriter Sheila Jordan among others. Various listeners have remarked that her voice is "ethereal", "something ancient, calling from the primeval darkness of fairytale". Tuğçe's musical interests cross genres and continents. She has collaborated as a singer, songwriter, and co-producer with Paraguayan musician & producer Santi on three albums: Ciclico (2014), Songs for Another Day (2015), and El Regreso del Gallito (2016). She has also released four singles: Istanbul'a (2017), Donde Va (2016), Sevda Çiçeği   (2016) and Backflash (2015). As the founder of the Kybele project, she aspires to develop opportunities for greater collaboration and broader inclusion of artists from around the world.

Sie erhöhen die Geschwindigkeit der Zeit und nicht jeder hat für sie eine Lösung bereit. Sind sie zu schwer, wirst du dir den Kopf daran zerbrechen. Sind sie zu einfach, wirst du sie schnell vergessen.
Für Groß und Klein ein Spaß, aber nur ein wahrer Riddler formt sie nach Maß.

Rätsel erhöhen die Aktivität unserer Hirnströmungen und somit unsere Kreativität. Sie fordern und fördern, begeistern und lassen verzweifeln. Kindlich geprägt, können sie doch auch erwachsene Züge haben. Doch Denkspiele müssen nicht immer in Worte verpackt sein. Auch Musik kann als Medium für Rätsel dienen. Etwas kann in ihr versteckt sein, was unseren Verstand gefangen nimmt. Gefesselt durch Faszination verliert er sich immer tiefer im Geheimnis der Harmonie und des Arrangements. Getrieben von Neugier versucht man hinter die Fassade zu schauen und zu ergründen, warum uns manches Meisterstück nicht los lässt. Doch oft gibt der Dirigent sein Geheimnis nicht preis. Es scheint eine rätselhafte Verständigung zwischen den Noten und unserer Seele zu geben, die unser Verstand nicht fassen kann.

Auch unser heutiger Gast hat mit seiner deep story etwas Mysteriöses erschaffen, dass euch das Blut in den Adern gefrieren lässt und euren Kopf zum arbeiten bringt. Lass euch einfach drauf ein und erkundet das Rätsel seiner Musik!
