Abducted Records is proud to announce, ABDUCTED LTD, our very first offshoot label which is dedicated 100% to Drum and Bass! We are launching with the mindset of QUALITY drum and bass, that is not bound by specific style of subgenre's. As you will be able to tell from our launch LP "A New Breed", featuring : Cooh, Fortitude, Sinister Souls, Stranjah, Mason, Subsonik & 3am, Netics, Fendi, Cemtek, Atic, Braincrack, Evoke, Fendi, Jahe, Liminal, Picota & Kumbh, SICKorWELL, RA:SKL and Dioptrics, we have assembled what we feel like is one of the most robust lineup's of 2014.
 
Meshing legends with the new comers, and everything in-between, we hope to redefine people's perception of a traditional record label by pushing forward a community of artists who all bring something unique to the table. Breaking the boundaries of the exclusionary standard set by so many before us, we welcome all drum and bass lovers to unite and push forward the genre as a whole!  Keep an eye on the horizon, as we plan to have nothing but solid drum and bass with each release.

Jade delivers the long-awaited 'What You Are' to Eatbrain. 'What You Are' opens with a half-time groove which only grows in intensity, as Jade continues to add layer after layer of grime to the mix. Hoarse, tormented vocals repeat again and again, setting the tone for the entire track. The addition of a sinister, shrill hook pushes the tune over the top - a continuing melodic element taking the tune into a new dimension of terror. Jade breaks things down before raising the pressure to full levels with a dirty bassline riff, roughneck drum programming, and expert bassline acrobatics in between each phrase. This is the Eatbrain sound.

Introducing MaXD, the 16 year old prodigy from Ottawa, Canada. This producer has been solidifying his productional skills by uploading clips on Soundcloud - one so great that it just kept us coming back.

Bad Habit is a true anthem. A signature release for us as Rockforce. Epic in vibe and arrangement, beautifully merging glitch hop elements with classical keys. It draws you in, progresses from layer to layer, to erupt on the final drop - just when you’re fully mesmerized. Like a bad habit.

Digging around my hard drive for old tunes, I came across this finished DnB track from 2012. Doubt I could still load the project file for it, but I reckon it sounds alright as is anyway.. so here you go :)

Slime welcomes American producer Nymbus to the label. With a string of celebrated tracks to his name across the deeper end of garage and drum & bass, his reputation has been building in each respective scene for some time now. For his debut release on the imprint he delivers two stunning examples of his craftsmanship in liquid drum & bass, backed up by a pair of killer garage remixes from his fellow label-mates Blackboxx and Aaron Static.

‘Silica’ drifts into a view on a melodic wave of melancholy chords and ethereal vocals before pulling you into its sublime undertow, replete with rolling basslines and finely-cut drum work. Striking a perfect balance of light and space throughout the track, it evokes hazy summer nights cast against starlit skies – a simply gorgeous slice of emotional music that is uniquely powerful.

‘Obsidian’ follows a similar path to the former track but amplifies the resonance with jazz-tinged elements and a tougher roll-out on the drums. Razor-sharp bass stabs combine with sweeping melodies, offering up a cinematic feel that recalls the early works of liquid producers on Metalheadz or Moving Shadow.

Edinburgh producer Blackboxx steps up for the first of two remixes of ‘Silica’, extrapolating the elements of the original track and mutating them into a chilled garage odyssey, and further cementing his position as one of the most exciting garage producers around. Australian production veteran Aaron Static shows off his technical expertise with a jaw-dropping re-mould of the original into a seven-minute epic that bridges the genre gap between garage, breaks and neuro with remarkable results.

2-step garage. This is the first time I've made this kind of style, but I used to always listen to it when I was younger, I just loved the soul and rhythm of the genre. Here I've tried to mash it up with new sounds from todays electronic music.

Teddy Killerz turns to up-and-comers Mizo and Zendi on the third track, 'Bad Omen'. The trio brings us a standout collaboration already gaining support from some of the top names in neurofunk DNB. Dreary atmospherics ring with forbidding uncertainty, while razor sharp breaks set the pace. The grinding bassline drops, wailing dissonantly like an alarm, signaling the oncoming wreckage. Varying melodic elements, including a melancholy guitar solo, add a new layer of complexity to this aural weapon. Not for the faint of heart.
