I'm a songwriter and performer.  But I also like to teach and equip people who are or are wanting to write songs.  This profile is currently used to showcase these 2-3 hour collaborations.  The people involved are from all over the country and these were recorded in their living rooms, backyards, and mountain escapes.

Karla's 2012 release Honeycomb Tombs, is a stand-alone album inspired by and devoted to the subject of grief. With over 30,000 downloads this album has been a balm to listeners worldwide.

In 2013, Karla and her family lost there home in the great Southern Alberta Floods, needless to say, there have been many years of personal growth, healing and dormancy leading to 3 new songs being released in 2020. The new work dives deep into topics of suffering, overcoming, and resilience as Karla explores what it is to find one’s true voice.

I am the Richest is an album crafted rather than recorded; all the songs were written over a 3-days and were commissioned and co written for the album. A rootsy, Americana feel pervades the album which includes throw backs to deep South gospel traditions and special attention to integrative, gorgeous harmonies. Songs like Old Hickory, The Singing Well, Lucy, I am the Richest and Come Home (I Don’t Know If I Can) stand out as talisman along the winding journey The Emporiums have created.
