Robsoul hits the triple century and marks the occasion with Phil Weeks diving deep into the archives to unearth, dust off and polish up some previously unreleased projects, all sitting pretty alongside a brand new jam from the Robsoul boss.  
A king of the cut up and master of the sample, Weeks has established Robsoul Recordings as a one-stop-shop for House music lovers. Deep jazzy grooves, filtered disco delights or nasty warehouse joints, all dipped in the magical dancefloor dust of Chicago, New York and Paris… The French label has become a treasure trove for the discerning DJ since its launch in 2000. Uncomplicated, supremely effective tools for the dancefloor. 
Release #300 opens with excellent ’Thuggish Ruggish’, the brand new track from Phil. Bumping, filtered and laced with a super smooth vocal sample, this hits with intention. 

Up next a brace of newbies in collaboration with fellow Frenchman and Robsoul regular, Joss Moog. The downy bass and filtered vocal of  2012’s ‘One Step Ahead’ has been tightened and remastered for release, sitting pretty alongside the aptly names ’Sure Shot’, with its spritely Rhodes melody and big bulbous bassline. 
Digging back further still, all the way to 2011, we’re graced with a perfect double from Weeks and one third of Apollonia, Mr Dan Ghenacia. The pair go all in on ’Source Sure’ and ‘Push’. Two tracks that work perfectly in the mix, Source Sure lights the French touch paper whilst Push delivers some 80’s Chicago flavour, topped with an electrifying vocal surprise. 

A fitting selection for a milestone release… Time to get down!

Dario Nunez teams up with Bubba Brothers for a vibrant new release on Wh0 Plays titled ‘Shake Off The Drama’, and it hits the groove fast & arrives with pure club intent. From the first hit, it feels like a track built for sweaty basements and rooftop sunrises. That rolling Wh0 Plays swagger is front and centre, and it sets the tone fast.

Dario Nunez has been a steady force in the scene for years, and the evolution shows. Bubba Brothers have been on their own rise with chunky percussion and feel-good energy in every set. Emerging in 2012, Leftwing & Kody have become regular fixtures in Beatport’s Top 10, releasing on the likes of Knee Deep In Sound, Hot Creations and MadTech when not on their own Lost Records imprint. Receiving regular support from the likes of Jamie Jones, Nic Fanciulli, Carl Cox, Maya Jane Coles and Hot Since 82, the pair’s studio abilities are irrefutable, making them likely artists for the next release on Steve Lawler’s VIVa, whilst also getting signed to VIVa’s management roster to boot.

First up, ‘Pursuit’ delivers sinister samples, whirring atmospherics and a viscous bassline signature to the Leftwing & Kody sound before ‘What You Do To Me’ employs rattling percussion and offbeat stabs until a lengthy drumroll ignites into an infectious groove. Sascha Dive was last spotted on Bondage-Music earlier this year with the deep hypnotic pulses of ‘Dark Night’ on ‘Bondage Games 5’. So it’s fitting he returns with ‘Detroit Sunrise’ and, as sure as day follows night, it’s every bit as deep, pulsing and hypnotic as you’d expect from the Frankfurt craftsman…
His first full EP for the Leipzig label, we open with real talk. ‘Detroit Sunrise’ warms up with broad, swinging drums, rippling textures and a crucial spoken word sample every single one of us should consider. It sets the scene for two classic Dive deep adventures as both ‘Dub Chronicles #1’ and ‘Dub Chronicles #2’ both roll out with subtlety and understatement. Layered, absorbing and endless; timeless tools made for those deep mix moments of magic.
Last but not least, we end on an upbeat. ‘Ghostdancer’ takes more of a sprightly, light-footed note with an upward-spiralling arpeggiated riff, gentle ebb and flow chords and a light peppering of cosmic flurries. Ghoulishly good. Like all things by Dive and Bondage-Music. Don’t get tied down, get tied up…
