On Side B, Z.I.P.P.O's 'Satara' stands out as a 909-based techno gem. Its mind-twisting sound design, rolling lead, and mental bleeps take you on a profound auditory voyage, rich with depth and complexity. The Side B concludes with 'The

Premiere of 'Abandoned' by LIDVALL, taken from Abandoned EP forthcoming on Soma Records

Spanish based LIDVALL makes his Soma Records demos with a unique and concussive 4 track EP titled, Abandoned. An artist on the rise his skilfully produced tracks have seen him become a firm favourite amongst the techno community and this EP further cements his skills as one to watch over the coming years.

Crack makes a no nonsense opening of release with rapid fire percussive elements firing across energetic and electrifying synths. Like To Your Story has a more deep and hypnotic feel as spacious and carefully constructed percussion loops out throughout the track, crafting the perfect DJ tool. Title track Abandoned picks up on a more groove focussed tip with skipping hi hats dancing over melodic structures. Chorus goes all out for the closer with thudding drums taking the lead as searing, warping synths spike at the heart of the track.

Soma welcomes back longtime affiliate Arnaud Le Texier as he drops yet another storming 4 track release on the Substance EP. Arnaud has been one of technos most prolific producers and this latest EP demonstrates his unique ability to deliver consistently high quality, dance floor orientated tracks. Title track Substance is packed with groove and attitude from the outset a Le Texier drops an intense percussive workout to kick things off. Magnetic Tape goes deeper with cutting stabs providing the depth throughout the track. Space Funk brings yet more depth but with crunching and powerful drums pushing out high intensity vibes. Orexis closes out the release with a looping and hypnotic sequence once again backed by Le Texiers signature driving, percussive elements.

Chilean based producer Diego Oroquieta returns to Soma for his 2nd full release with the Aquadance EP. Armed with 4 uniquely produced and distinct tracks, Oroquieta moves easily between warping and hypnotic sounds to more tougher and abrasive material.

I Finished My Homework is a relentless, drum heavy opener that leans on a hard hitting and continuous rhythm while title track, Aquadance, takes a deeper, hypnotic route with pulsating, warping synths creating a dark tension throughout. La Serpiente Perdio Su Rumbo once again brings Oroquieta’s tougher sound as pounding drums back looped out synths before Amazing Dance closes out the release with distorted and unyielding power.

"And after a line, another line" (Serbo-Croatian: I poslije linije, linija) is a flippant reference to Yugoslvia's nostalgic lament 'And after Tito - Tito!' Oh how the ethical goalposts of the past are moved, again and again. 
 
As Zarkoff warns: don't turn your back on the golden youth!

INVOLUCIJA is an experimental post-industrial collaboration with artists from ex-Yugoslavian countries, started by Michel Morin (Sneak-Thief / Polygamy Boys) and Lucija Invo.
