Após 22 anos de Charlie Brown Jr, visando eternizar a formação original da banda, os músicos Champignon, Graveto, Marco Britto e Thiago Castanho decidiram manter a união criando um novo projeto.
É assim que dão continuidade à carreira da banda que traz um novo nome e uma nova integrante, a baixista Lena Papini, que entra no lugar de Champignon, que assume os vocais.
O projeto batizado como “A Banca” simboliza o prosseguimento da história do Charlie Brown Jr. Inspirado no título de uma música do disco Nadando Com os Tubarões, que é também uma expressão bem conhecida na periferia,  que significa uma turma,  uma galera, no caso “A Banca do Charlie Brown Jr”, o nome reforça a ideia dos integrantes de manter viva a essência e ideologia do grupo.
