A blend of snap interviews and deep listening together and reflecting on artists and musicians practices, from their references to interest in sound and music.
Tai Shani's multidisciplinary practice, comprising performance, film, photography and installation, revolves around experimental narrative texts. Shani creates violent, erotic and fantastical images told in a dense, floral language which re-imagines feminine otherness as a perfect totality, set in a world complete with cosmologies, myth and histories that negate patriarchal narratives. These alternate between familiar stylistic tropes and structures and theoretical prose in order to explore the construction of subjectivity, excess and the affects of the epic as the ground for a post-patriarchal realism.

Hosted and programmed by A---Z (Anne Duffau),  The Shell Filled with Planets is a blend of snap interviews and deep listening together. Reflecting on artists and musicians practices, from their references to interest in sound and music.
Sculpting field recordings into dissonant pastiches informed by the synthetic framework of club influences, Flora Yin-Wong’s body of work cycles through the emotional spectrum. Informed by life experiences spanning through East Asia and beyond, her aural collages vibrate with personal, social and spiritual history—sampling temple chimes, the Chinese Yangqin stringed instrument, and pulling from her family’s history of involvement with opera. Instinctually powerful, her work touches on existential themes of death, transmission and rebirth in a way that can crawl under a listener’s skin.
She runs Doyenne, a small-scale experimental publisher and label founded in 2023, focusing on ephemera and the divine feminine. Expanding into collective and communal-focused experiential events, the label gathers intimate and personal work from musicians, writers, and visual-based artists without restricting their form.

Aho Ssan is a key player of French experimental music, and has garnered wide international attention for his felt, yet richly philosophical approach to sound assemblage. His last acclaimed album released in 2023, Rhizomes, as a gender bending set of collaboration has been key and necessary on the electronic scene for the last few years.

The Shell filled with Planets feat.  utopian_realism w/ Anne Duffau (25.06.2025)

A- - -Z presents ‘16-bit’, an installation by David Blandy. Blandy’s work interrogates facets of post-millenial identity through the lens of globally influential pop cultural forms such as arcade games, hip hop and manga.

The project is set at Four Quarters in Peckham (187 Rye Lane, SE15 4NF), a bar which has built its reputation hosting arcade games and consoles. Two works by David Blandy will be presented. 
The 2015 Workweek Prize has been awarded to David Blandy and A—Z for 16-Bit.

One is an arcade game made by the artist, the other will be a film screened on the opening night of Art Licks Weekend.

- ‘Duels And Dualities: Battle Of The Soul’ (2011) enters the realm of the 90’s arcade games with Blandy’s alter-egos facing each other in a never ending battle 

- the game will be installed from the 30th of September to the 7th of October 

- ‘Backgrounds’ (2013) will be screened on the 1st of October at 7pm and on the 7th of October at 8pm. This 16-bit aesthetic film looks at the artist and his father’s virtual identities - both represented as their alter-egos, they walk through lo-res landscapes and discuss their respective practices. 

The choice of these two works reflects the artist’s play on identities, the retro-virtual, and the question of art and boundaries - operating outside of the classic parameters. 

This project is part of A—Z’s ongoing research project around the display and dissemination of artwork and adds to the morphic and viral forms of the platform.
