Having already released 2 of the best albums of 2014 (Gin on Fika Recordings, and Boom Biddy Boom on wiaiwya) Stanley Brinks and Freschard are releasing Pizza Espresso - an album of duets, and a collaboration between both labels – at the end of August. 

Pizza Espresso is an album of love songs about drinking and drinking songs about love. Picture Emmylou and Gram relocated to Berlin with a guitar, a pennywhistle and a washboard and writing ten gorgeous duets to be sung on lazy summer evenings.

Stanley Brinks began performing officially as André Herman Düne in 1999, sharing lead vocals, guitar playing and songwriting with his brother David in the band Herman Düne for a number of years. They released several albums and toured extensively in UK, gaining and owing a lot to great support from John Peel. He has used many monikers for various side-projects, but since leaving Herman Düne in 2006, he has been known solely as Stanley Brinks. 
Born in Paris, Stan has been living between New York, San Francisco, Malta and Berlin for about a decade, always on the move. He has recorded more than 100 albums, collaborated with the New York Antifolk scene on several occasions, recorded and toured with traditional Norwegian musicians, and played a lot with The Wave Pictures. 

Freschard grew up in a farm in French Burgundy. Aged 18 she moved to Paris, where she baked pies and cakes in a cafe. There, a local musician and regular customer called Stanley Brinks wrote a few songs for her to sing. Homeless in Paris, she saved up just enough money to get herself a ticket to New York. There she found an old electric guitar and started writing her own songs. In 2004 she moved to Berlin, where she recorded her first LP, "Alien Duck". Her second album, "Click Click", recorded in 2006, features electric guitar by Stanley Brinks. On her third album, she plays the drums herself. On her fourth “Shh...” she also plays the flute. For this year’s “Boom Biddy Boom” she also plays the washboard. 

Stanley Brinks and Freschard will be touring the UK for 2 weeks in August (joined by The Wave Pictures as their backing band), including appearances at the Green Man Festival in Wales.

This album is part of a songwriting challenge to write one piano song per week. It is meant to be a journey throughout the year that echoes the transition between months and demonstrates the constant among the changes in season and in life. This album expresses the relationship between summer turning into fall.

Nostalgia - Emily Barker and the Red Clay Halo

Formed in Oslo in 1996 by childhood friends Jon-Arne Vilbo and Thomas Andersen along with Jan-Henrik Ohme (later joined by Mikael Krømer, Lars Erik Asp and Kristian Torp), Gazpacho have honed their unique sound over a string of critically acclaimed albums and numerous tours, including several with long-time supporters Marillion.

Night was originally released in 2007. A musical interpretation of a dream or stream of consciousness, it was the band's first true concept album in that it is one long song split into five parts. This structure attempts to recreate the pattern of a dream where the mind of the dreamer floats in and out of different memories and worlds. The album explores the question of where dreams end and reality begins and the mind as the tool that has to decide what to believe. During the dream the 'character' travels through various memories, both real and imagined, and sees the world from the angles of different people. Jon-Arne describes the album as being, 'about life and the various ways of interpreting existence.'

Night was Gazpacho's fourth studio album and was the album that introduced the band to a much larger audience. Despite the high regard with which the album is held, by fans and the band alike, there has always been a few small issues with aspects of the sound that have bugged the band and other features of the songs which have emerged through playing them live for the last five years. This new Kscope edition of the album has allowed the band to address these issues while still remaining faithful to the original.

For the new edition, which is packaged in a deluxe digi-book and comes with a bonus disc, the band wanted to re-record the drums and once they started this process they found that there were a few other tweaks that could be made. Thomas explains the changes that they made, 'we re-recorded the drums and some of the vocals that were distorted in the original recording session. We also added some of the tracks that were left off the original version to add further depth to the sound. We also remixed and for the first time for Night, mastered it at Cutting Room Studios in Stockholm.'

The second disc features live versions of the opening 3 tracks from <em>Night</em>, recorded at the Gloria Theatre in Cologne during the European tour to support their acclaimed 2012 album, March Of Ghosts. Here is the live version of 'Upside Down' from the bonus disc.
