A dramatic sky

Together.    A remarkable gathering of more than twenty of my favorite SoundCloud musicians.  Guitars, keyboards, basses, tenor sax, clarinet and vocals. Together's musicians are serious creative instrumentalists and are inspirations to so many.  Many are recording artists.  The finest players I know here.   So many are simply remarkable.
   
Together represents what SoundCloud is about, and how effectively musicians can work across the world.   Musicians who have never ever even spoken with each other, but recognize each other by their sounds and the notes, rhythms and phrases they play.  Pretty damn cool.

12 countries are represented here  -- Canada, Dubai, England, Germany, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Norway, Scotland, Spain, Sweden and the US.   

There are two sections to the piece - a blues piece and a modal fusion section, with soloists across each part, showcasing their distinctive voices.  Vocalatti's beautiful singing is woven throughout the piece - her words and voice really pull us together.  The wonderful keyboard head during the opening and closing was composed and performed by Calaminus, who also has added the great organ comping you hear throughout.   The first and last soloists are brilliant musicians and soloists, as are so many throughout.    

It's been such a pleasure to pull this together over the past 3 weeks.  So sit back and enjoy a true SoundCloud experience.

I stare down through tired eyes, just for once I wish to disappear in the night
Though I have done the things they said, always here we go again from the start
I slowly lose the hope I've had, cease to see the meaning in trying so hard

In The Sky

This is an extensive instrumental track inspired by circumnavigation pioneers who started the Golden Globe Challenge, a single-handed, round-the-world yacht race that took place in 1968.
This track features two collaborations : Sundayer's guitarist Xavier, and bassist Louis. of Clermont-Ferrand's band Red Hill, and also a central part based on a butadeam improvisation (instrument on the picture)

Roaring Forties

"Jericho"
A classic prog piece of that kind I tend to write. It was created after a couple of hours with the twelve string, and then developed as the lyrics came up. The myth of the walls of Jericho may be well known, but this time the lyrics turn it all in to the present situation we have in Europe. Your personal views may differ but I do hope you like the track - and please do not hesitate to tell me what you think. Relevant feedback is always welcome!

This piece of music is an uncompromising expression of self, a fleeting glimpse into my psyche, drawing influence from every significant facet of my past life. It is arguably fortunate that only a few individuals can possibly relate to it.

My life is tarnished by the rust of centuries,
Scarred by catastrophic fondness,
The trees wilt and perish in my garden of youth,
The memory of my father drives forward the hands of Time,
As the attic door shivers in remembrance of terrible secrets,
I only seek return to the warmth of my forge;

Perspective of a cynic,
Loneliness divine.
Balanced by detachment,
Eclectic tastes refined.
